UPDATE!!! 9th October Well its only been a few days since my last entry but some major wok to the case has only just been completed a few mins ago!!! I'm pretty tired but i think the overall time spent was well worth the effort. Well lets get on with it. Here is my mates Ray Ray's dremel clone..i would use mine but his has more power so it was nice of him to lend it to me. well onto the holes...heres the front intake and the rear extractor and now starting to cut both bow holes.. I couldnt be arsed to wait and buy a hole saw set...i will buy one for my next project but for this i couldnt wait and just dont have that much time to mod. and finished the first one. now this is here where it got hairy...the cutting dicks started to break and im sure one hit me but no probs there but atlest two disks got stuck/broken whilst cutting the second hole. So after all the drama...here she with her new dusty blow holes
another shot of the new holes... I had a small prob where the holes i drilled for the screws were too small so i wipped out my mates drill bits and my dads trusty bosch drill and went at it to the existing holes... but then......snap!! but then i threaded thru screws to get the hole right and with alittle bit of force the screws went in and i matched them up with the fans and there we have the end result!!!! in the front a 92mm vantec stelth.. a 120mm Coolermaster fan in the back many of the modding guys have cats and dog's but how many how u lot have birds!! so here she stands out side...i washed her down and how shes drying outside. I Do believe that my modded Antec Lanboy is a Bit-tech FIRST!!! a Lanboy with 92mm intake and 120mm Extractor fans!!!
i filled then down but they are not perfect but they will covered with blow-hole trim... not to worry tho....will update.
Excellent . Only other problem i can forsee for you is getting that PSU in and out will be a major pain with a fixed top-side.
indeed it is a pain as i gotta remove the optical drives to remove the psu when i change something but im sure the psu wont be a problem...!!!
That's looking pretty good. I'll have to buy me onf of those card readers. I'm glad that someone actually used our templates. Did they fit correctly? I never actually tested them myself .
well they fitted fine and what not...but i think if i had a hole saw it would have been easyier but also i had existing holes i was cutting round so the holes arnt perfect......yet but im sure when ill take the paper off within the week and with abit more sanding it will be cool...as for if there is any obstruction to the fan it's self there isnt. the only prob i found was that the hole sizing for the screws were a wee bit small.but top job on them templates.
Cheers for that. I didn't make them personally but I'll tell the guy who did. Keep up the modding, I'm subscribed!!
Just a quick verbal update for now! well as Uni and work has been taken up my time and even my free time ive had little chances to do any modding but i have been looking for ideas and will actually be doing a mini-side project with my project log!....currently the other reason why i havent been modding is my funds or lack of there off! but we are getting paid nxt week so im happy happy! and also my new hardware required my full attention! anyways i will be back with an update this week but its only gonna be a short one! stay tuned!
OMG!!! UPDATE!!! 27th Nov 2005!! Well its been AGES since i last posted a update..well things are happening but SLOWLY,as uni and work take up my time and all the modding i want to do is hindered buy the super cold weather we have in London for these nxt few months. Well that in mid i will actually miss a whole month of potential modding time during december as im going back to India and pick up the key's to me new flat(not that i need it really) so me and the parents are off for the whole month..should be nice but i miss out on me modding time and also i dont get paid from work during the month as im having a holiday during a peek retail season But ohh well so this maybe my last update this year untill January 2006!! So lets get on with it. Im sure you huys remember the small card reader i will be installing in the machine well this is the card reader naked and with LED changed to sunset orange to match the HDD LED....much better than booring green. Here we have some awesome Plasti-kote primer..this stuff is awesome but expensive..so only one can for now.... Up next we have alittle side project..i bought this HDD caddy of a nice forum member and i decided it needs a makeover so ive decided to paint it black for the moment then add in details of the final paint scheme from the case and add it on the HDD caddy... In bits now... I needed to tape this corner up as there is a thin plastic sheeting where it insulates the electrics of the caddy from touching the bare metal of the carry so it dosent short out. OOHHH what do we have here...a nice prezzie from ebay!
UPDATE Cont..... Well im on a new post ass i cant fit many pics onto one single post sooo..lets get on with the post. Here we have all the items ready to get primered...we have the HDD caddy, drive rails and the small back hardware box-thingy Drive rails... HDD caddy.. Hardware box-thingy.. We also have a update on the hardware for my main rig now... The line up is now.. Abit NF7-S Rev.2 with tictak bios Mobile 2500+ @ 2.35Ghz 1Gig Geil Value Ram Ati 9800Pro OC'D With R360 core And the usual 2x HDD's and 2x optical drives The new hardware is the Abit mobo which is lovely and a bargain for £20 off COMMANDO on these forums and... A new pci USB card with a internal port so i can run the car reader using this internal por without running a cable all the way out then back... And... the Zalman northbridge HSF which is a godsend as the active HSF was driving me nuts as it was so whiney and loud...this abit board was much louder with the active HSF then my old Asus board. So i decide to braid everything that was gonna be in the case as i wanted a clean look...so whilst braiding and cutting the excess of the power LED's i did this OUCHIES no matter ill have it fixed up with some solder or tape...but it's wonkey one one side as i had to strip wire from it but it still works!! Here is a final recap of what i have braded.... 2x 4" UV cathode's 1x12" UV cathode 1x 120mm Rear Fan 1x 92mm Front Fan 1x 80mm Cpu Fan 1x USB Leads 1x Power/HDD LED Leads Well thats it for now ill be back soon or nxt year with more update's to come but this project is far from finished! Stay tuned!
The case looks great There did you find the paper cutouts for the fans? It's looks realy smart, maby I'l manage to make the whole staight the next time
Thanks man well the hole are straight but its actually the paper i cut is actually bent..go to middin.net to find the templates for the fan wholes.... Thanks mate but i got a LONG way to go.
