yeah sorry, the project is kinda on hold, i ran into some problems with reassembly but basically the only things left to do is wiring the cathodes and reassembling the case. the only problem is that it all must be done in 1 time and my estimation is that it will take around 4-6 hours including the installation of the hardware. right now i dont have any time for that, but as soon as i will, i will of course complete the case :)
trust me i want to see it finished not less than you do and i got another project pending

Wow... over 2 months without touching that project. I must admit I almost gave up on it. the countless reassembly problems kept frustrating me over and over again, holding me off from finishing this piece. But taking a break from this mod was also a good thing as I am now back fresh and ready to move on.

I took the case from my work back home to finish it here. Today i played with the CCFLs I'm planning to install in the case. the lighting setup is now almost complete. in the upcoming days I will install and stealth the optic drives, finish the wire routing and finally install the hardware :)

Meanwhile here are some pics with the lights up and running.

I connected the cathodes to one of the on/off switches on my Zalman controller and they have 5V and 12V modes except for the "off" mode. So basically that gave me an option to choose a barely visible lights when the switch is on 5V or the full power 12V.

The following pics were taken with the 12V on.

And some pics in the darkness :)

I never thought the blue plexi i used for this project will turn out like that. apparently in the darkness it becomes almost completely clear allowing to easily see the insides of the case while in the daylight with the CCFLs off you can barely see whats going on inside.

Yay, you're back. I was wondering what happened with this project but I'm glad you're going to finish, the lighting looks superb along with everything else.

I'm not normally a fan of windows and blue lighting but I'd be quite pleased with that case. :thumb: Nicely executed, consistent theme, Beautiful bondo & paint, ... & I really like the blue paint colour you used.
