120mm fan+ 2X 25mm fan = 2x dead 25mm fans. ;) I just killed a 40mm fan by putting it in the enclosure with a 80mm fan. I don't think the PSU will be getting enough exaust. It would be better to add more holes or a false bottom.
There's what? ~7watts going through that rhebus? It's going to generate a LOT of heat to slow down that monster.

Yes cheapskate. That is a concern. unfortunately I dont have enough space to put the 40mm fan in. So i added a third vent to the front for an other 25mm fan. Yes the chamber with the rheobus is also getting an other fan. :dremel:

    Time for an other update.
I completed the steps and glued them together infact I have been gluing them for the last 4 days. 1 level a day :p . This was because I used weld-on 16 cement and that requires a cure time of 24hrs and I have just one bench to work with.

I did a quick photoshoot of how the whole thing will look when its put together.
This is a good time to summarize what else is left to do.

    1. Glue PSU and Drive mount.
    2. LED's for the steps.
    3. Billet fan window (Similar to Bill Owens warcraft case mod. )
    4. Misc (Other gluing/ Polishing /Cleaning etc)

    And now some pics :D
    The whole server

    Update Update ... :p

A rather small one this time. I followed Dae Ja Voo's guide for adding LED's inside my DVD Drive and the remote eject switch.
These lights are driven internally from the drives 12V power supply.

Started off with soldering 3 LED's in series. with a 512 Ohm resistor attached to the circuit. Superguled the LED's to the back of the DVD Drive. ;)

I then wired up the remote eject switch to the Drive and was happy that it was done

And then I hit my first hurdle.
I totally for got that I needed to put the switch in the panel. Now how do I put a switch which is totally wired up into this hole

I then looked in my scrap box and found this . This will allow me to disconnect the switch from the drive when ever I want to. and all I need to do to put the switch in the hole is to take the pins off the molex connector.

I went about doing that for an other hour. and finally
    All wired up.

The male molex was stuck to the Drive using some superglue. Looks pretty neat. :)

    Connected

    Another small update :

I put together the PSU and Drive hold and added the fans to the front panel.
I ordered a couple of 40mm blue LED fans to add to the front of the PSU.
I also made a small video of the remote eject switch.

Enough talking let the pictures do the job.

Lower Chamber that holds the DVD Drive and fan controller.

    Opinions Opinions ...

I made 2 designs to make a billet window for my fan. I asked around and people seemed to like the design on the lower half. So I went ahead and etched it on a scrap piece of acrylic. I wanted to get opinions from you guys

The final window will have 4 of the designs. One in each quarter.

I also did a little painting. The 6-32 nuts i ordered were silver in color and I needed to get them black, just for consistency sake.
So I arranged them up and sprayed them with some krylon fusion flat black ;)

I also disassembled the monitor that I bought from NoahMateen and prepped it for painting. It will be painted flat black . I started off with this

and after about an hour of removing screws

    Comments/Suggestions welcome :)

ha ha . Right now the plan is just to get the monitor painted. I may end up doing something totally different with it later. Maybe an acrylic front panel or something.

    Thanks Klekkus

I just re-read the whole log and I can't seem to find what size the monitor is. Other than that question, it's verra nice.

In the OP there is some wire in some silver tubing (or it looks like that) would you care to share where you got that?
