Sweet work on the PSU-rack :D I did something similar myself once, though only with two PSUs. Have a question though; why did you keep them on separate switches? Though then again - I can see the attraction in having to turn them all on in sequence :D

    Nice work so far.

    TK for your comments guys

Those are not switches to turn on the power supplies, those are to turn off the PSU when you want to install a PCI card or other stuff with out having to unplug the PSU or can be use as a reset switch after a short or power outage. Some power supplies come with those and that is why I choose them. I didn't like the idea, to reach behind the case so I move them to the front. They give me the option of chossing what PSU will be on, when I don't need all of them on, at the same time. All the PSUs will turn on when I press one single power buttom, but they can be switch off independly. I'm in the processes of wiring them, also the power rack is not going to be a junction box.

I'm back with some wiring managment, this is how the PSUs look inside the power rack with the stock PSU wiring.
this picture is after adding the PSUs intake fans to the rear lid, lots of wires
    [IMG]
then I, extended the ATX plug wiring by 4 ft.
took the extended cable and solder, the connections to the main PSU board
    [IMG]
I also extended the main leads for HDs, fans, etc by 4 ft. Now the interior of the PSUs bays look more organized.
put back the lid and no wires from the PSUs are visible now
    [IMG]
the second lid has been put on, this one has the case intake fans
    [IMG]
two shots, with both covers on and showing the power leads cables
    [IMG]
notice the green led light on, at the side of the bottom switch, main PSU on
    [IMG]

Remember the darn thing, goes upside down inside the case and it not finish yet. I took me a couple of days of running wires and soldering and lots of cutting, in total I used more than 250 feet of wire. While doing the wiring it just occur to me to do the sleeving of the cables that way and I like it a lot. I might do the whole case wiring that way, that will change the plans I had, at the begining of this log, will see what happens. Those power leads are going to a junction box, that I haven't decided on the design yet.

    Thanks for you comments guys..

The ATX plug was uncrimp and the wires were solder directly to the pins. All other conections are solder and cover with heatshrink tubing, the molex plugs are also solder but with new molex pins and housings. I changed the wiring to a heavier gauge 20 to 16 , because of the longer runs and for safety.

This are the plates that gonna act as grommets for the cables and cover the extra holes of the power rack.
    some of the green stuff
    [IMG]
    green cover plates ready
    [IMG]
power rack goes here at the top of the case
    [IMG]
    power rack is in place
    [IMG]
some bottom pictures showing the cables in position
    [IMG]

now some pictures with the cover plates in place
    [IMG]

added the cover for the PSUs
    [IMG]
then added the cover for the case top intake ports
    [IMG]
    final shot everything in place
    [IMG]

There still room for routing cables across the case thru the power rack. The power leads cables are extra long, I still don't know how or where they are gonna plug into; they can be shorthen later if need it. I'm still trying to figure out the shape of the junction box, maybe one day I just start building it and see what it comes out of my head. I like how the power rack came out, never imagine it will look that way.

P.S. I like the Black color, but I haven't been able to keep it dust free or without fingerprint marks, the case is in my rear porch ( modding zone ), is a nightmare.

I need to power the rear exhaust fans for the HDs and the Rads, so I came out with this little things to hold the jacks for the power plug.
two screws will secure it to the case and the jack goes in the middle.
it gets screw to the side of the fans airbox
    [IMG]
how the plug goes into it
    [IMG]
a shot from inside the case, plexi is clear, green LEDs behind will iluminate the green plexi
    [IMG]
Now I start building some plexi gromets for where the power leads enter the case
    [IMG]
they are made in two pieces, to make easy to install around the cables
    [IMG]
after some final shaping, I decided to paint them black
    [IMG]
now they are in place, left side for main PSU only
    [IMG]
right side for the other two auxiliary PSUs
    [IMG]

This will have to do for now, untyl I come out with a better idea...
I still debating how to make the junction box, the problem is, that I had too many ideas and can't decide which one to choose.

Holy freaking hell CrazyModder! I remember reading this log when it was just the post that had the Hulk holding a cable. I thought that this mod was just going to be a standard job with a bunch of hard drives. My god how you have proved me wrong!

I love your balls-to-the-wall mod first and then make measurements later approach. Your case is looking phenominal.

Sir, I do believe you are crazy to be making a case like this... crazy-awesome!

Thanks for or your comments guys! :D

My daughter told me something better, they look like snakes, great :wallbash: I hate snakes, shes just five years old.

No enought, by the time is finished, I will need to double that storage capacity :waah: , this time the new case will be planned. Maybe a server with 24 or 36 or 48 hds :naughty: " HAL 9000 - XXT server "

I'm going with water cooling, green of course, keep watching.

Now you hit the nail in the head, you fully understand what I'm doing here. Can we call it free modding, no plan, no rules, just modding for fun. They only bad thing about it, is that the case has gone in a different direction of what I wanted to do in the first place. Also, with no plan I forgot to do some mods that I wanted and the building progress is very slow. I still have no idea what to do next  tomorrow.

Well thanks you guys for your support, see you at the next post...
