i have alu res and copper blocks, it seems fine, theres some sediment in the water but its fine, i *think* that you could say put an anode on the alu (res) and a cathode on the block and that would help stop the corrosion?? Also looks like ur res is annodised which would fix the problem anyway?? i think? excellent mod, i love how u mounted ur res, very cool
first of all thank you for all the nice commnets, you guys and/or girls reely encourage me (i know, that sounds realy korny) @pa!n thank you xD @Simsy well, first i cut a larger peice than i needed so i can trim off the excess, then i slowly applied the vinyl (make sure you keep the backing on for unaplied part, and slowly peel off the backinga s you go) pushing hard along the way to make sure there was very minimal air bubles, then i trimmed off the excess as for the remaing bubles, for the large ones i took a pin and just pricked them and flatened them out. as for the smaller ones, i took a lighter and put the flame as close as i could without touching the vinyl and the little holes just "poped" and flattened themselves out, since there were too many small holes i put the thing in the oven @ the lowest setting for about a minute, im not realy sure i did anything to it, but i think it helped a bit. I cant gaurentee that this oven method actualy worked, but it SEEMED to help @ Duste i was planing to, but i realized i wasted all the moulding on the mobo cover and reservoir mesh i wont be needing an external anymore, i fixed all leaks, and i am pretty confident now in repairing them, also i got a great deal on 2 250g WD drives on newegg and now i have em in raid 0 and they rock, so much quiter, larger, and cooler than my raptor. @ leviathan 18 & soncienta yes.. i belevie alphcool anodises their reservoirs, and im using PC ice which is SUPPOSED to reduce corrosion ot a minimal as for an update, I was thinking if just spraying the rubber bands on the mounts black, but realized that the paint would chip and get the reservoir all dirty, and i realized that i could just borrow* a couple of my sister black hair ties, because they are already soft, strechy, and black, ill post a pic after a borrow* a few ill start painting the other pannel once i get all the letters masked off, its taking forever, and i dont rember where i saved the original template for the letters Lastly, can someone tell me where i might find a LCD that will fit in 2 drive bays (PSone wont fit) and run off of RCA for a low price. My funds are REALY low right now thanks for bearing with me, i know updates without pictures are boring anyways, stay tuned for more moding action!
well heres an unexpected update. an idea poped into my head while i was doing hw and i droped everything i was doing just to do this ok so here we go i was thinking aobut how out of place the green PCB of my videocard looks and decided to do something about it. so i cut a model out of some cardstock i had lying around i taped it onto the mesh i used my metal cutters and after a bit of triming and bending i got this i mounted it on an the final product looked like this here you can see that i just skewered the mesh between the waterblock mounting screws its a bit imperfect, but i still like it (you can see the gaps there. anyways, i d say that this was a sucess, i havnt seen anything like this around so i guess its pretty uniqe too xD oh and i almost forgot the in-the-dark pictures id say that turned out pretty nice questions and comments are welcome
The mesh cover is brilliant...but I think it would look even sweeter if you'd give it a chrome finish! Keep it comin'

That is quite an idea for adding mesh around a add-in card. I want to do that with my old radeon 9600se, not a very powerful card, but hey if it looks powerful it may just pass off ass halfway decent right? thought so. Nice work and keep it up, anticipaiting the next update
@pa!n i was thinking that, but then i would have to remove the mobo cover, which involves removing the VGA block, (because the block obstructs the side out mobo tray in the wavemaster), which would mean i woud basicaly have to disasemble the entire system, including thewater cooling an dpitting it back to gether which will take FOREVER, which i dont have time for @Jokos thanks @randomz, haha i saw those when i was researching on how to build the trebuche, i even say a lego one o_o @Warrior_Rocker YES thats what i want for my hardware, i mean, a Aopen 754 mobo, a AMD300+ and a 6800le is not what i would call top of the line, but if it looks good, at least laymen will say "WOW THATS A CRAZY COMOPUTER" painting updates coming soon, stay tuned
ok first of all i apologize for the lack of updates, i havnt been able to update because of schoolwork (was up till 4:00AM finishing the 14 page write up for the Trebuchet lab, im NEVER procrastinating againn ) ok on to the mod i got a present from ebay the other day: i consider it a present because i only ordered the black one and they sent me the white one for free close up. Im only planning to use the black spinner, but now im tempted to find a use for the white one... anyways, that mod is on hold till the weekend after SAT's (this saturday) top view as for the rest of the case, good news and bad news. Good news: ive got new ideas for the front pannel Bad news: i ruined the right pannel paintjob, so im going to redo it, its gonna take a while befor my dad has time to take me to buy paint again though anyways, heres the case as of now ok i think this is the best night shot i can do witout a tripod. i was just wondering if i should wire up some external LED's to light up the racing stripes becuase thats the main feature of the paintjob and it not being visible in the dark kinda bothers me im aslo still trying to find a setting on my camera that will let me capture the full "magnitude" of the matalic black paint, here are some attemps heres the "close up mode with flash "landscape" mode and beach and snow mode i think that the landscape mode make the paint look more like gloss black, and overall beach and show does the best, but still i would like to hear your opinions well thats it for today, stay tuned for updates to come on the weekend
Look for mini tripod thingy on ebay cheap and effective lol gr8 mod cant wait to see finished product hopefully in high res
haha thanks, i totaly forgot about getting a tripod when i ordered the spinner from ebay, *note to self, buy tripod next time you go on eaby* anyways, i promise to post some high res images when im done, imma crank my camera a to 7MP quality and up the res to 3kx2k itll be nice
hmm... i think you want to drill a hole for the spring. it supposed to push on the back plate for that waterblock
ok.. a little update, i finaly fiugred out what to do with the inside front pannel, heres the solution: sloped mesh cover, i saw Japala's Project: Embryo Zero the other day and was deeply inspired by it this is how the mesh is shaped. side view. ok now i need a little help from you guys, what kind of finish sould i give the front mesh, and the inside mesh, im planning to take apart my entire system one last time to do some final adjustments. my choices are : a. Mirror b.Black C. White d. both B and C e. leave it as is. all comments welcome
Right now I like every mesh piece by itself but not as a whole. But I'm not saying ditch it either. If you make some of the peices flat black and leave some chromed it'll add to the effect you're trying to get as well as makeing parts of the case stand out instead of the big blend you got going. Just some constructive critisizm. : ) P.S. I love what you've done so far.
Embroy Zero wasn't Japala's project, it was drakmin's, finnish modder too. That mesh-thingy is nice, like the whole project, pretty impressive case you got there!
@ Fozzy thanks for the advice, but can you please clarify? i kinda think i know what your saying but not sure. I THINK what your saying is, blend the front in by painting it black and mabe the innards chrome, and the outside peice black too, so that i can have the outside peices blended in so the other parts can stand out? @ accro ahh sorry about that, i guess i was too absorbed in the project to actually find out who it was that made it, anyways props to drakmin! thanks for the comment, means alot, considering that this is my first real mod
Kinda. What I'm saying is if you were to paint the front top and videocard black it would do a few things. A) Make the bay mesh stand out less B) Make the radiator stand out more C) Make the videocard WB stand out D) Make the Motherboard Mash Stand out more if it remains Chromed.
