    Radiator

I had a little time on my hands tonight so I installed the finished radiator in BlackJack.

My aim was to check the Radiator's top fitting for tubing clearance with the sloping inside panel of the Lian Li. I was thinking about drilling a hole in the area for the tubing to pass through.

It looks like it will not be necessary, more than enough room.

Check out a front view with the stainless hex-head mounting bolts. The 5.25" bay area will also have more of the same bolts holding a acrylic cover for that section.

    Looking great. KEEP THE WHEELS!

Apologies for my earlier posts btw... I wasn't "slamming" the innovatek products, they're good stuff.

I like it too. It really fits there nicely :)

I did have one question (to any V-series owner, v2000 if possible if they're not the same in this manner) regarding the hard drive mounting system that I wanna ask before I forget... in the one picture I've seen of a HDD installed it's set up so all of the cables would be facing the window side. I know they use those wierd screws to mount them in the racks... I wanted to know if there's enough clearance (or how much there is) for the drives to be facing the other way (cables towards the left side panel, nonwindow side) and not destroy the cables. (I hope I don't need right-angle SATA cables... I have so many normal ones and right angle ones are expensive :wallbash: )

    Anyways...

I was thinking you may wanna try replacing those front bolts with black ones if you can find them, however I think the silver bits really add a surprising amount of interestingness to the front panel :)

Hmm.... for some reason I thought you'd be using bigger tubing. I like the look of the smaller stuff though, hopefully it won't make much of a difference in performance.

Sorry for the slow response. I can't help you with any information on the stock HD mounting clearance, as removing it was one of the first things I did, but I would agree it looks close.
I actually tried black bolts first, but the stainless adds a little contrast to the area. The 5.25" bay area will have more of the same bolts (working on that soon).
Honestly, I am only familiar with Innovatek and Aqua-Computer gear, but from what I have read most German H20 gear is "small-bore" like mine.
This is a interesting thread on the subject. "US vs German systems- advantages/disadvantages"

    extremely nice looking stuff !!!

But the consept is still the same, a "case" a "water colling" a "..."
When I want to see something "NUTS" !!!!

I think that moding should go beyond the standard "case" &"water colling"
    It MUST GO "NUTS" !!!!!!!!!!

    See ORAC3 for example

but not everyone has the taste for an all out go wild case. some people just like nice, sleek and elegant cases which this one is.

When I started this project "Black Jack " was just a working name. I think I came across a better one.
    Black Narcissus
I was watching TV and the old (1947) movie of that name was on. Later I did some research on Narcissus from Greek Mythology.
Son of the River Cephissus. He discovered his image in a pool and fell in love with himself. Being unable to find consolation, he died of sorrow by the same pool. Seem's aptly named for a H20 cooled computer. I just wanted to give people following the thread a "heads-up" before I rename the project.

I have been playing around in Photoshop with front panel images and I do not like the look of my toggle switches in the 5.25" front bay. I tried every configuration and they all mess-up the clean lines of that area. So, I am going to mount the two switches for my CCFL on the bottom of the case (accessible from the side) using rocker-type switches. The only gear in the front bay will be a DVD burner and my Aqua-Computer Aquaero VFD. The hole area will be covered with a Red or Smoked acrylic panel. I should have some "stuff" comming soon, so look for updates on BLACK NARCISSUS

What do you think of the new name?
I know it is better than this one.

Or, you know what maybe he is correct. I love that thread..

black jack rolls of the tongue nicely.. but when i say the new name, i unconciously start a string of sus's after the word.. so it sounds like this

    black narcissusssusususususs

literally.. if no one has already claimed the name, keep black jack.. not many people know greek mythology

This one looks better in writing, black jack is hella easier to say. I like them both though.
I agree... I won't even read that thread because I'm imagining a litter box mod or something.
