Alrighty then, time for a new project

Project: Frodo's wavemaster was a load of balls imo, i still even today think its cack, but instead of working on it for ages to get it half decent i just decided to scrap that and turn that into a server (will do a seperate project for that - or i may just get another pc07 for my server lol!)

the case im using for is a Lian Li (ive always wanted to use one!) pc07-plus, its from their "value" range, but as far as i can see its actually better than the normal pc6, as although it uses a 3hdd holder (vs the pc6's 5 hdd holder) and doesnt have a removable mobo tray, its alot larger inside! *due to the mobo tray being all the way on the other side of the case :D*

so yeah, all of today i mainly spent drooling over the repack res, the lian li, the alphacool block and a few other goodies i got!

^ the sexy pc07+ next to its mini-me! a promethia modified waterchiller :D in a cut down pc07+

^ another angle - i personally think the repack res suits the lian li range REALLY well!

^ front and back rads in, and a few holes drilled for wire routing

^ back rad, with some wiring modifications

^ front rad, sunon 38mm with a zalman fanmate 2 soldered in so i can tame the beast (and control how much it brings the chillers temps up)

    ^ sexy front

^ awesome repack res :D *crap photo quality due to having a bad day*

^ the aforementioned wire routing starting to take shape!

so yeah, this case will be called project Black Osiris

mainly going for a nice clean looking case with a simple slick clean look to it, i prefer lian li's clean and sharp, not all covered in cack *there are a few exceptions to this, some do look incredible*

tomorrow i plan on doing some more work on the wiring and sorting out the loop design, also got to drill hte holes to mount the d5 to the floor of the case!

    none

this mod isnt going to be OTT heavily modified

mainly because i cant be bothered to do it all, and because i just want a nice, clean, simple cut case, and also because i dont want to spend tons of time on it, because ive got other things to work on like rc cars and my motorbikes

right, well this was one of the shortest projects ive done, ever... mainly because its not finished 100%, but stage one is 100% finished

i present to you Black Osiris

so basically i spent about 6 hours getting this built up after a full day at college, and was VERY relieved when it booted up straight away :D

^ dfi mobo with crappy air cooler on the wavemasters removable tray

    ^ the sexyful alphacool block

^ sexyful alphacool block with some shiny nickle plated brass 1/4" fittings :D

    ^ clearance... could be fun

^ put inside zee case with the cpu block added (Custom made by dualist :p)

^ Add gfx :D i really need to order my EK fcx1800 block so i can get this card a bit chillier! as its the noisiest thing in the rig! *except when the chillers on, but that will be sorted)

    ^ need more blocks!

    ^ begin the tubing

    ^ havoc tubing

^ the front :p i personally love the curves at the front here, as they just look really sweet! cant wait to get some more dye in there and a uv lamp :p

    ^ overall shot

    ^ before wiring

^ modified lian li hdd holder (had to chop off most the front and part of the sides so i can shift them forward enough while keeping drive bay covers

^ with a rather tasty chiller attached

^ finished with solid panel until the windowed panel has some acrylic (that isnt cracked)

^ the insides - theres some dye left in there from the chiller

^ fully wired - need a slighty tidy up

^ with the cracked sidepanel to see what your going to be able to see

    ^ another overall shot

so yeah, this isnt a finished project, but this is the first stage of the project done

next stage, dual 120's uptop for some more ventilation, lighting, dye, gfx block, hdd cooling mods, a few wiring mods (so i can fully stealth the wiring) a working hdd power cable (i made one, but mustve wired it up wrong :()

there will be quite a few stages to this project...... so rawr!

    peace out

Hmm, looks very much alike Sc4mpi's PC7 with adhering PC7 waterchiller. But still it's very nice :)

Where do those chillers come from? Also what prices are you looking at for one?

ok so i got piss bored...

    notice a few differences?

first of all, complete loop change, i bought an fcx1800 from eddy ek, quite a while ago now, along with his nf4 chipset block, it all worked good, got my rig down to some nice temps

    ^ magic 9

    ^ magic 8

not bad for an uninsulated chiller rofl

but then it went shite, went to drive one of my rc trucks in the garden, came abck, pc dead as a dodo, motherboards foobar'd

so i bought myself an sli-dr-expert, which i must say, is incredible!

i had planned on buying some hdds shortly after getting the sli-dr-expert

but then i got back into rc trucks *in a bad bad bad way* and ended up spending a rather large sum of my cash on a few of my trucks...

looks stock in that pic, but it isnt anymore, quite a few modifications, my favourite is the nosram .28 heh :p far more power then the k4.6, wheelies constantly heh :D

well, im re-resurrecting this project, plans involving:

more harddrives (what can i say... ive got .6tb in this rig and 1tb in my ah1 - its not enough)
neater wiring (so none is visible)
    some stealthing of parts
    pump movement (into chiller compartment)
some painting (insides going black - stealth look)
    custom window (finally)
top vent (it gets warm up there and the stock 80mm hole is a bit dull)

heh oww well, no one will even read this so heh, take care all

soo...*looks at desktop* I see you like cycles eh?

Ever consider putting some cathodes in there? it'd look great with how clear and routed everything is!

Yeah i look at that rig and think crap it has everything! Juiced up cooling , good cable management , components? dont get me started. everything ,

But LIGHTS!!! man for 15$ you could get a dual set of cathode and pop them in no big deal.

    Slightly off topic but...

What is that bike, middle bottom of the picture? The black one with the two small headlights? I have wanted a Supermoto for ages but know next to nothing about bikes :D

    What is the chiller doing?
    Is it chilling the water?

If so wouldnt the radiators be warmin the water from chilled temperature to room temperature?

thats a KTM duke, supermoto, theyre lovely bikes!

scifi, read earlier on, the chiller is there to chill the water, the rads in there to keep it above ambient

as if the water drops below ambient it will start to make condensation, and on an uninsulated rig that isnt something you want, plus its there so when i turn the chiller off i can atleast stay under 40c heh

talking bout bikes, im going to go work on mine now, take care all
