I love the threaded caps. They should make filling so much easier. I love this project. I really wish to make my own water cooled computer sometime. And may have to steal your idea for those aquatubes to fill them Jus tuse a different cap...O well. I love it good work.

    Hard Drive Cooler:

This was my agenda for today. About a year ago I purchased two of these:
in the now discontinued "titan" color. The color does not fit the theme of the project (aka chrome-black)..My original idea was to repaint the unit..BUT, then I thought "why not polish it"..
First, let's take a look at the Aqua-Computer aquadrive:

The aquadrive's sides are Alu and the top and bottom plates are 2mm stainless steel with a layer of sound-dampening material:

H20 flows through the side panels of the unit and between panels via a small acrylic tube:

** does the world need a H20-cooler for a hard drive, I would say no.. What these unit's provide is a excellent way to make a HD look sexy as well as isolate some of there noise..(IMO)**
Let's get to polishing, well first sanding. 600grit-800grit-1000 then 1500grit:
    dirty-job..
then on to (3) grits of polishing compound..
    (4) hours later, the parts:
the top/bottom stainless plates, I only "buffed-up"..they give a bit of contrast with the polished Alu. The front/back face plates are chrome plated:
    Lets get it back together:

mounting hardware, the same black-oxide button head bolts:
the above pictures do not speak to the finish I ended up with on the aquadrive, these do:

I think (hope) I am finished polishing Alu for this build..
    Have a great weekend..

Nice. Just a question: In All the pictures of a Titan colored AC gear (Aquatube, aquadrive, blocks, whatever) I can't seem to figure out what color it really is. It looks sorta like a brownish silver in one picture, then a dark grey in another... Care to help me solve what I've wondered for so long?

    "Titan" was a deep-gray-color..
Not sure why Aqua-Computer put the "brakes" on the Titan-line..
    Thanks @ all who-posted..
Next weekend (with any-luck) I will be working on the MB-Cover..
I gota few ideas! that might....well....

    MB Cover: Da Plan

Very-small update this weekend guys (busy time of year) in fact no more than an idea and some stuff I purchased to facilitate my theory:
archive-photo box made of thin-gauge Alu:

    Mock-UP motherboard:
Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe. Ebay-special ($35 US). Does it work? I don't care in the least. It's just a tool to help with "lay-out"...

I need to "pick-up" some long standoffs. Then start to "map-out" waterblock locations..
Can U see where I am heading? :thumb:

I can see where you're heading and the future is bright! With the PCI(x) slots are you going to just cut out one large piece or just where you will have cards sticking out?
