Thanks Greeny, all this stuff is hit and miss.. In my project logs I like to speak of the mistakes as well as the cool-stuff.. Things never ever go ultra-smooth..
highs and lows..and-thus..da good and bad..
I willl "bounce-back" with something for the MB.. rest-assured..

@G42: The only "stuff" I am willing to add to the H20 in my loop is AC Fluid: My advise, stay-away from the color-dye-crap..It's just that.. :thumb:

Thanks Capt.. It was not than I failed to get the cover to fit, but instead it covered too-much... Ended up looking very-antiseptic..
(IMHO) H20-blocks and tubing are SEXY... I want to see some of that stuff and cover-over the ugly-MB-bits..
So, it's a matter of design and not dimension...

Hmm, I saw something a Long time ago, it was a guide on modding chrome spiked nuts (Basically, a stud/spike, with a hole in the bottom, then threaded.) That could have the possiblity to look amazing. Maybe securing the mobo cover.

Then again, I know you know what you're doing. This project log, along with the previous ones, show. Keep up the good work.

Exactly. I used the same process to figure out what it is I want to cover and what I cannot due to spacing, or do not want to cover for aesthetic reasons. It may be as simple as starting out with a photo of the motherboard.

The problem is that it's a very tight mix of design work and dimensioning.

True-enough.. I started out trying to cover everything and just ended up with a "box".. also only used one material (Alu)..
Next go-around will be different.. I have a ebayed Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe for mockup, so it is justa matter of a design I like... Hopefully I have learned from my mistakes. I think instead of one cover the answer maybe two-or three covering specific areas of the MB. It will not be sheet-Alu this time either..I got an idea for that as well..

@ RR9: bigbore VS smallbore, the question for the ages.. For me I like the look of the SB gear, it's Ezer to design with and I would never use anything other than compression fittings for H20-cooling. I have yet to see them available in a size larger than the 11mmOD I will be using..

I have to agree there. I just bought some compression fittings along with 11mm/8mm Tygon and I'm liking it better than AC 8/6mm p&c fittings. They are a little bit on the hard side though to screw down (the nut that is.)

Cheers on another excellent looking mod.

True-enough RR9. Three months in, I have a good-amount of cash invested in this project. Lots of chrome-plate and biker parts from the elite-builders makes for a "pricey" machine.. Those guys are my inspiration.. My Hero's..
    Worth every-penny, in my book..
With 12-25-06 inching closer, it's hard--but--I should have some time for an update later today (Saturday).. I have some "new-stuff" to show you as well as a idea for the MB wire-chase.. With any-luck the Dremel will-turn.. :dremel:
    Stay Tuned..

just one thing. I can't read german, but i was taught that the Anschluss or whatever was the union between Germany and Austria, that Hitler tried to make in the Second World War, before he was stopped by Moussolini. ( i know i can't spell)

The sense "ohne anschlüsse" in German means "without connectors" in English
