Well said.... I couldn't have put it better myself
Well now that I understand its gonna be in the tube, it looks good in there, NEEDS that spike imo. Looks good, keep it up!!
Glad to see even more progress on this. The little spike on the vent seems to fit in nicely now that you've given us a good idea of how they'll come together - if anything, it might be a bit small. I like the look... it really fits in with everything else. Hopefully those grills won't be too restrictive to airflow
I have to agree with your assessment of the spike-size. Bigger is better. My first thought was to use Trotta spikes.
problem I need (4) and have only (3)..They are the perfect size, hell.. I will have to order more!!
The hole-size on the brass stuff is the same as a LL V1000, so should not be a problem..
Sorry to say No progress to report. Did some real world stuff then played STALKer and drank (still-drinking) beer..
CF4 in a few days!
Even more spikes on this case... They are really amazing, but the small spike inside the blow hole is damn small... I agree with you, you need more big spike (and more free time to mod) :-]
I donno about the flat black on the grills though... with them sitting on the "polished looking" acrylic they look sort of bla.... But I'm loving the concept.
the grills- I like contrasting shades of the same color (black in this case)..
there should be a small update (CF4) in about 24hours.
Bit-tech's infrastructure update on 3/30/07 prevented me from my update. Today was my first chance since then.
The dual 120mm radiator fits quite well:
I want to start working on the side window for the case. Yes, there will be a small side window on the MB side of the case as well as the dual blow-holes for the radiator intake. Disclaimer: none is this is finished. we are just doing the rough-metal work at this point. everything will get cleaned-up and painted at a later date..
Before that, I need a panel to bridge the gap between the MB and the lowered divider plate. The first thing was to cut the bottom edge of the MB:
removing the rolled edge.
ending up with:
The window will allow a view of the Aqua-Computer acrylic aquatube. The material more of the ACRyan mesh. Cut to size:
using my favorite new tool:
a slot to allow the panel to slide into place:
then C-strip (I use a lot of this stuff):
installed (it gets bolted in under the MB):
viewed for the other side with some light on the aquatubes:
Tomorrow, I should have what will become the bezels for the side panels window. I will show you then.
So, work should began on the panels window and blow-holes this weekend.
that lit aquatube behind that mesh just looks amazing!
Agreed, awesome work MS!!
o0o0o - Now that aquatube lite up white looks nice! Something kind eery about it.
In the pictures the far edge of the Modders mesh doesn't have any c-strip. It probably will never be seen but I know you like the little "extra" finishing touches
Oh and I just found a set of these on Ebay that I have a plan for in my mod but I thought you might like them too.
Those are my favorite style but they also have some other designs. If you remove the mirros they make for some pretty slick brackets
Just a question about the spikes on the rear aluminum fan: Do they come in UNF, where can I get them, and do they come in Chrome, black chrome, and/or brushed stainless/alu ?
it's pretty much exactly what I need for a mod that I'm going to be starting soon. Lots of spikes.
That 10mm c-strip gap is the point at which the MB tray is pop riveted to the I/O plate bracket. Could not run the c-strip past that point, but that region is still under construction..
@ BoD: the same pike/spikes from Distinctive
@2J: eerie sounds good to me.. In Fact, just what I want.. THanKs!
waiting for Indian Larry to ship the other "shiny-parts" I ordered. Machine-time, I guess.. In the interim, I will endeavor to push-forward with my little project. The weekend will be my next-available free time..
The mesh is wonderful, but with the light that came from aquatube gives a fantastic mood to the pc... As usual, you're doing a good work, take your time :-]
I was actually talking about the vertical side of the mesh more towards the middle of the bottom compartment.
Thanks, did not even think about that!
UPS dropped off a few packages today..
only purchased (1) would need another. I wanted to see what they look-like..
1939 Ford (reproduction) tail light from JEGS
The size (150mm long X 70mm high) is about right for a aquatube window-bezel..
exploded view.. The tear-drop shape has made these 39' tail lights very popular with the Hot-Rod set since the 1950's. I think they may-work for my little project as well.. What do you guys think? (feedback)..!!
second package, from IL
wow, those are some QUALITY parts. im not sure what ur gonna use either of them for, but im excited to see!
Will take care of that ASAP justa..
