As we say over here in the UK "Too bloody true!". Often when people post one pic it can have taken hours to get to that point.

    Keep it up Modsquad. :)

    hey modsquad, a question:

on black narcissus, you used an aluminium innovatek block and a copper radiator+cpu block. Did you have any problem with corrosion? What cooling liquid did you use? I have a few options: feser one, innovatek protect or alphacool tec-protect.

Are the innovatek cooling blocks quality stuff or not? I'm watercooling a 360 right now and i'm not sure if i'll get an x-matic wc block, a few koolance blocks or something else. do you know a gpu/chipset block that's only
    20 mm thick?

As far as I know, the innovatek blocks are anodized to prevent corrosion. For some small gpu/chipset blocks you could check out Alphacool.de.

From what I understand, the problems your speaking of arise (mainly) when mixing-metals in one block (close proximity). In my BN, I used an aluminum Aqua-Computer GPU block with an (optional) copper core. So, its' just what your talking about. --After a years-use, not a problem to report! For corrosion-protection I have been using ACfluid:
With SG, from "day-one" I used InnovaProtect.. (4) months-use and same story. NO problems.. Hell, the two are (could be) the same-stuff !
IMHO, Innovatek GPU blocks are "top-notch".. I don't like there CPU blocks only-because of there plastic retention (mounting)..

    GO EkWaterBlocks
I think--the blocks are better than both Aqua-Computer and Innovatek..:thumb:

The x-matic is full aluminium, so i guess i'm safe. So it won't do weird stuff to my copper radiator if i use some innovaprotect or tec protect? That's great news.

Yeah, i like ekwaterblocks too, my first idea was using 2 cpu blocks and making custom tops for them, but i can't find any 1/8" taps here :(

I have a loop with a mix of copper and alu in the blocks as well. I also use the Aqua-Computer AC Fluid in it and no problems with it. The Innovatek product should be just as good. I also frequent the AC forum and there are no threads about corrosion problems.

Much-thanks utopius! I like to think IL would approve!
There will be an update Sunday. I have some new-parts and new-ideas for the machine. I managed some work yesterday and (with any luck) more today.
Stay Tuned. I have been pondering a redux on the side panels. The Sunday-update will address that issue..

    Misc Update:

Here's what I have been working the last few days. First off a slight change for the side panel. The DB air cleaner I intended on using for a VFD cover is no-more. I found something more functional and (IMHO) a better fit to the machine
    [IMG]
Yep, from fellow bit-tech'er Bill Owen.
It's a nice piece of gear. Machined from billet aluminum. Above is a "mock up" picture..
I like the grill, BUT-- sorry, Bill have have to mod it (just a bit).. Namely round over the square corners to give it a softer-look:
    using:
    yes:
    and fin:
then on to polishing (I also replaced the stainless mesh with the AC Ryan HEXMesh)..
I also picked up one of mnpctech's bulgin switch plates
    [IMG]
    which polished up nicely
    [IMG]
won't be using it for bulgin switches though. More on that latter..
    let's bolt that grill on:
this is the first in a series of "ideas" I have for the side panel
    [IMG]

    next up: some lighting.
Received a box from the boys at Detroit Bros.
it's a tail light pod. More billet aluminum.
pretty straight forward. The acrylic lens cap and snap-ring (I added the brass mesh)
    one of those 3-led lights
    [IMG]

    done:

lastly, made and bolted in the mesh insert for the side cover:

    that's it.. a rambling sort of update I know..:hehe:

the grille will work better as a cover for the VFD than your previous solution, with respect to the visibility of the Aquaero that is. However, looking at the side panel: there are now three circular objects and the new grille. Which is circular on the inside but almost square on the outside. Hope you get what I'm trying to say here. Because of that, it looks...a bit off to me... In that respect your air cleaner solution looked more in place.

But I think at the moment it's too soon to make a final judgement. Let's wait till the end result...

(as a sidenote, hope you don't mind the criticism, I seem to be having much more of it on this mod than on your previous projects)

The bill fan grill is a kind of "must to have" for me, but in future, the shipping cost is too hight for me...
But with your mod, wow, it looks better, and for me the original look was perfect!
    Awesome work as usual, mate!
