Quick update to say that I'm being sent one of these from dabblet (Thanks mate - legend) so I've bought another one. Going to send some others back to Kustom

Here's what the new grills look like

Well had a bit of a productive evening.

Got my SilenX fan through :D

Don't like the "gunmetal". But I know you can clean it off. A bit of surgical spirit and a use found for those cotton swabs women (the missus) use to clean their face and tadaa!!

    Before

    After

Trimmed the fan holes too. One day I'll get the hang of it. But not right now. At least it'll be covered with a grill!

Cut the mobo tray and the side of the mobo to get some wire management going on. Twas hard work but looks ok. Trim has been changed a bit and smartened up a lot but I also have plans to cover it a bit :)

    What dya think then??

    One knackered me today :(

Well: I had a day off and played a round of golf just before a nice bite + pint at the pub :p

But I did manage to get the rig installed into the case as both myself and the fiancee (well: mainly the fiancee :p) are getting annoyed at the mess

Had to cut a hole to allow the fan to get past the PSU holder but thats another story...needless to say I now have a dremel minus about 5 cutting wheels ;) Pics another day

Internals are ok. Wiring is a bit of a nightmare and I may have to hack around some more we'll see

Haven't put the lighting in yet. Thats for another week (maybe next week) when I'm not quite so tired and hot.

I haven't cleaned up the case yet so the pics are ok..ish

Got one fan grill through today. put it on with the bare fan for a comparison. I would like to know people's thoughts on this as I quite like the fan without the grill...but I also like the grill..

As usual thoughts and comments welcome! :)

Back to 2.8GHz now and temps are pretty good although the PWM IC is pretty high. Maybe I will get some replacement sinks.

Its a drop of about 7-8*C from my last setup...but remember that there's no GPU loop in there until I complete another bench PC.

Without the grill looks better. Maybe you could make a grill similar to the bottom one out of clear perspex for the invisible look.....

Yeah I'm thinking that without the grill it looks better. Not sure tho. Not a big fan of Acrylic grills

I will get some lighting in next week, along with the UV dye in the water and some coolant.

@Mankz..It does look bigger doesn't it? Feels pretty small when your trying to get all the wires into one small hole ;)

This is sort of an intermediary "finished stage"

    Things I want to do:

*Set up the UV Cold cathodes, switchbox and LED's

*Sort out the fugly rear-end of the pump

    *Hide the drive bays

*Maybe get plexi over the cable tidying

what about making some custom plexi fan grills which sit behind the case and in front of the fans? make them clear as well so they are hard to see

I'll give that a go as I have a load of plexi. Any idea whats good to use to cut plexi? Can I use the dremel and if so what discs are good to use?

how would u go about getting to use one of those ? or using one?
i would use either a dremel or a jigsaw with a fine tooth blade

Ye not sure how many laser cutters there are around me or how much it costs.

I have had a thought though - I may put the grill behind the case side in front of the fan. See how that looks. What dya think?

Ye will do. I may buy a polishing wheel for my drill actually. The grill is pretty mirror but a bit more polish never hurt anyone did it??

Don't use your dremel to cut the plexi. It'll melt....I usually use a jigsaw with a fine blade.

    Thanks lads :D

@Bullitdodger: Thanks for that. May have to steal Dad's jigsaw

Bad new about the fans though :(

The grill inside the case looked cool. Stopped the fan from working tho ;)

    Going with no grill mefinks

OK so I just had to get some UV in there. Turned out well :D

    And the front:

Haven't made the switch box yet but the switch I have works well :D

Also going to add a couple of white LED's to the front plexi...if it looks good

Looks a bit bland, it needs something on the outside of the case, the fans are nice and the blue LEDs and the display are nice but there needs to be some engraving or perhaps some art on the outside... you could use a spray paint and stencil on a design like Back3d in a bold text or a symbol that stand for Black3d...
