Conroe Installed and running Too tired to do a detailed post...but it's going well. Redone Water loop and installed Conroe No problems so far at stock. Mobo ran fine with the 2gig of GSkill One quick pic before bed...stock speeds remember and RAM running on Auto - muchas throttled
Quick Pics Pics quickly More pics and detailed comments to follow tonight or tomorrow The loop sticks out a bit unfortunately But I'm getting the eddie EK block soon so hopefully that would be better for routing. I can just put the case side on without one of the fans We'll see...
Mm nice dude. Super pi 21 was what i got stock as weel and on 3 other systems. Crank that puppy to 3ghz and bring on the 17secs like i pulled on air today ( 23 while dual priming ).
Conroe in and clocked! Thanks man Max Stable OC 3.6GHz (400 x 9) http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=111144 What I may run it t 24/7 is 3.375GHz (375 x 9) http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=111180 Not bad Here's t3h sex: It's worth noting that there is still work to do on this. The eddie ek block is yet to go in and I have to sort out that hole where the fan was: it didn't fit on the case with the alphacool block so I'm hoping it will with the eddie...though not confident. I spose i could just make it into a nice window
Soz about the lack of updates. Been busy with review and stuff. I have some new RAM and a new chipset cooler but I also managed to break a CCFL Awaiting stock as AC Ryan is the only make I'll have I'm moving soon so hopefully I'll have some time to get some work done then
Update finally! Right update. Pics don't do this justice as it looks very nice in real life. Not fiddled properley with the mobo yet but it installed Windows fine. The temps are a bit high on the CPU but I think I need to adjust the fixings a bit. Added some drive bay stealthing and still lots more stuff to do like doing the floor in carbon fibre and some more black alu inside but it's looking good so far imo New hole cut in mobo for cabling: Dremeled that up as well as some more alu to cover the drive bays There's a couple of scratche that I can polish out (this is my workhorse PC after all), but it's very nice shape apart from that, despite these terrible pics Quick UV view: Current hardware is: Core2Duo E6600 DFI RD600 motherboard 2 x 1gb Mushkin HP2 6400 MSI 8800GTX 768mb OCZ Gamextream 850w Hitachi Deskstar 7K160 2 x Hitachi Deskstar 7K80's (in RAID 0, not installed yet) Sound Blaster X-Fi fatal1ty edition with breakout Crystalfontz LCD drive bay screen Pioneer DVD-RW Custom Water Cooling: Swiftech Apogee CPU Block Laing D5 Pump Aquacomputers EVO 360 RAD 5 x 120mm SilenX High Performance fans
Well I'll post up some pics of the mess DFI made of the NB later on, but yes they're pretty high (50°C idle stock) even with that SilenX fan I have on the NB. An alternate cooler is being sourced right now
good work there, I see you have an ICFX3200, yeah the paste isn't really nice, should change it before the first post, and a HR-05 would be very nice because you're watercooling I'm still waiting on my ICFX3200... please post the temps here too
Aye it didn't even get booted without changing the TIM on the NB and SB. Need to reseat my Apogee then I'll post some temps
Some people wanted to see what the NB looked like before I cleaned it up: I used plenty of tissues at first as there was so much, then some TIM and a clean cloth when it got to reasonable levels.
About time for an update! Right then big bundle of stuff from my good friends at SpecialTech I did manage to forget to ask them for Green UV Dye tho My X-Fi card had an IDE like wire but I had to make it better I got the CF off of eBay. The bloke cuts it to size for you. High-quality automotive Carbon Fibre Got the insides fairly sorted. Damn annoying that the nice short IDE cable ST got me wasn't quite long enough to fit Still the lil green Sata cable was The OCZ cooler didn't fit either due to the board having the RAM slots in a weird place. Getting tempted to use my 680i board in my main PC... Here's the finished insides: Not too bad imo. Fitted wheels to the old girl and put the cathode switch out of the bottom of the case so I can turn em off easier:
