I get such a chuckle out of reading this thread, and Wolvie... I dunno if you are seeing it (since it pretty much revolves around you!)

Here is my scenario that plays out in my head...
    -----------------
Reading from begining of thread (and what I'll post are my comments in my head... )
    "OMG??! That sh*t is AMAZING!!!"
    .....
    ..
    "Duuuude..."
    ..
    .....
"Oh man, you just scrapped it? OMG!!?!?! You did it again!!!! That is BEEE-UUU-TEEE-FULLL!!!"
    ...
    .

(goes and gets drink, bathroom, sits back down and continues thread...)
    ....
    ....
"SWEET JEEZUS! Amazing! How does he keep doing this??!?"
    .....
"His dremmel must be pretty pissed at him by now... OMG??!?! He did it again!!??!?!"

    (ad nauzium)
    -----------------

It is kinda like that guy who is just so good at a talent, and it comes naturaly to them, that they really dont realize how much others envy their skills!

You, my friend, have continually made me green with envy, and have give my optomitrist a lot of money from putting my eyeballs back into my head! ;)

I dont have to go to the doc anymore to put my jaw bone back in place :jawdrop: :jawdrop: ... I'm pretty adept at reinserting it back into socket after reading over this thread the last few times!

You have the skills of an artist. Now, since you seem to have the single sheet etching and engraving down... let me offer up a suggestion to route your energy towards... for if you start pulling this off, you will be producing some of the most inspiring work "ANY" forum could view.

I've seen the technique used in on a few other mods, but again, I think you could take it to a completely different level.

Using 2-3 sheets of plexi, create depth and interlocking interactivity between your etches (between the levels of the plexi) and then light each layer seperately so that top layer, middle layer and bottom layer are all using different colors to reflect off of their respective layers of etching.

I saw a guy do a anime' character etched on the top layer in blue light, then he did a 2nd layer that has a fireball that was being "conjured" by the character. He side lit that 2nd piece near the fireball with a orange/red dual LED so that the ball looked like a fireball, while the character was blue. Was impressive then, but I think you could really take that type of construction and amaze the world!

Not that your current work is "not" amazing in it's own right... however I think that, after seeing what all you are capable of currently, I think a properly crafted multilayer display could not only bring in a new level to your skills, it could turn into extra cash on your end by framing and selling those creations! Just something to think about...

Walking your thread is almost like porn...

Take care, and blessings on you for all future endevors.
If you have read this far, I am flattered!

Realy like the multi-layer Plexi idea , lots of room to experiment with that ... expands the ideas database

i feel that i got to answer Tech-daddy after that monster comment :D Thanks alot dude for all the kind words :) and as for the multilayer etching that is actually something that ive been thinking about alot. Ive been planning to make an entire case with double or tripplelayer etchings or maybe even 4 layers but the problem has been that doing complex patterns and images in layers isnt exactly the easiest thing one could try.
All the multilayer etches ive seen has been with really simple pictures and thats not what im aming for. But you can be sure that you will see multilayering from me in the future, just need to get my Hellraiser project done :)

Oh by the way ive made some more progress on the dragon etch :D

Friggen Pavlovian response to your acknowledgment that you are thinking through multilayer etches.

Have not seen/heard anything, and the anitcipation meter is already starting to build!
    ;)

Take your time, finish up your Puzzlebox and your Blacklight Demons/Dragons/(next he'll throw a Pokemon at us... ;) )

Take a few weeks off to rest that over worked arm... and then step back into the fray with a brain blower!
    :naughty:

Good luck on your current pieces, and I will always keep an eye out for your work!

(Shakes head, and stumbles off into the night muttering something about rotary tools....)

Your mod is very nice. I love it. Is there a "guide / how2" to learn more about making such fantanstic dremel etch work on plexi?

nice but dont u think that all that plexi will show all the wires of the case??
so in conclusion u wont really be able to hide them
unless u cut up the wires from the psu or something

I just spent at least an hour reading this entire thread in one sitting... and i think im gonna go back and stare at all those etchings for a few more hours.

You work is truly amazing, pure art...
someone said "picasso eat your heart out"... so true, seems the art world could have a new direction with case mods, and yours would be up there with the best...

I know you said that being a family man you dont have enough time for etchings... seriously dude... quit the day job! You could make thousands and im not talking bout SEK...

lol i am in awe... i have refrained from the use of the jawdrop smiley...maybe i should take a pic of my own bulging eyes and jaw-on-the-floor to show my appreciation...

just... WOW... thats the only word i can think of...
