Awesome case! I was thinking of doing a rusty case, but my plans were nowhere near as good as yours.

OMFG, i dint follow the thread cuz ive been busy with modding my self, but those side pannels are teh pwn ! , awsome in one word.

 

HL Kicks ass, but this case even more! You ever been thinking about submitting it at valve? I'm almost 100% sure they will publish some photo's. This case is AwesomE . Can't wait....

 

Maybe they'll make some 3D models of it and use it in the game...

I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned ( too many pages to search through ), but is the rust paint stuff solid, or does it tend to come off a little like real rust?

well like I said before (I understand that s not easy to find it into lot of page ...) by touching there is no problem with the paint but if you hard rubs it with finger you ve got a little rust on fingers; that's why I ll probably put one varnish coat

its ok to take your time. I find I do work better if I take my time. It is better to do something very well, rather than to do a half ass job on it.

 

I am sure you will test this anyway, but won't the varnish make the case too shiny. It looks great with the dull rust look.

 

I have matt varnish to test it , but may be normal varnish would look good like humidity on the rust on severals places...

 

Hmmm... test to make sure the varnish doesn't react with the rust paint

One other suggestion... is there a way to add a bit of back lighting to the 2 in the HL2 logo on the side panel? The panel looks awesome but I think it would be even cooler for night shots if there was light coming through the 2 as well as the HL symbol.

Still just amazed by this case
