hmmm... A question I present upon you. I looked back through the thread to see what schematic you used for the bay bus. It looks as though you just used some potentiometers to vary the current/voltage to the fans. Was it just this, or is there some other circitry? BTW, this has come a FAR ways from the start. Awesome work man
Looking really good piloux! I'm really impressed that you managed to get the rust effect lookings so real. It makes me very tempeted to try for this effect myself! (Would hardly matter about moving the case around as a dent or scratch would be difficult to see!) However, I do find myself thinking the colour becomes slightly uniform. IMHO it would be good if vary the colour on the finish from part to part to give a more realistic feel. I for some reason I liked the look when the grey undercoat was next to the yellow. It made the yellow stand out better and gave the case a more dynamic look... JMO though. Keep up the work!
Ok, looking at the second set of night pics, it seems the 2 is better lit than I had thought when I posted this. Please ignore
that s right , the enermax fans already have potentiometer on it then I only change the potentiometer by others 25 ma
Getting better everytime I visit this thread ... Something I think is just part of HL is like flickering fluresant tubes. I was thinking, if cathodes run off invertors, couldn't you sort of knacker them up so the cathodes didn't work properly? That'd look really cool - although may lower the cathodes life.
Very nice work indeed! Right up my alley! If I may, I think I`d walk upstears changing into my copycat costume (I have a chieftec case just waiting for me to melest it) DrErling
thank you very much guys here is the cathode support I made to give the lightning an industrial look and hide the light source fromm the exterior sight then I fixed the cathode psu above just between the psu and radiator here is a pic of the rear case, I always have to take off the fan's sticker there is a lot of wire I have to do my best to hide them ... everyfans are wired and functionnals and here is a little pic of the waterblock, I love it although I have to paint the cathode support and some littles things , I have some pproblems to get the motherboard I ordered then I break down the ordering to order another one, NF7 s rev2 I think ... well I m waiting for it to start the building of the sleeving motherboard's panel
I thought the idea of lighting up the HL2 on the other side of the case was a good idea, but a little extreme. How about going with leds to have the etch in the plexi glow? Not too much light, but enough to make it stand out.
well, I think that the lightning of the logo like this is just what I wanted: it seems to be and old lightning which don't work perfectly.
I agree with you piloux. It's like an old iindustrial light and it's perfect for an HL case! I'm still kidne confused how you are making that case, you're so damn good. . Keep up the good work dude!?
it is a Derf's design block , he is a french guy who selled these blocks on the Nokytech.net forum, but I think he stop this activity for a while...since he made his website here it is : http://www.derfsdesign.net
Oooommmmffffggggg ALl i can say is: OMFG ... your case is soo damn sweet ...it looks awesome!!! its one of the best mods the rusty look, the case is very detailed.
Looks great so far. Totally looks like a "Hollywood prop" I think you should paint your fan blades dirty aluminum and not get to carried away with making EVERY part rusted metal. eg make some parts look like dirty plastic or whatever. Have you considered doing a Plasma ball mod? It'd look kinda like a HL teleport entrance/exit. http://linear1.org/gm/archives/00000145.php btw I liked the first version of the front fan window better than the current bullet hole one.
omg are you kidding i simply love the bullet hole type and i'm stealing that idea for my next case (sniper rifle (or M60) PC)
Well in reality if that plastic were hit by a single bullet it'd probably look more like the first version than the 2nd. It's a small area of plastic not, a 6'x6' sheet of tempered safety glass. Better airflow too. Just my opinion.
