Thanks :D, heres the next update for you:

I'm going to hold off on fitting the angle block for now just until ive finished the sanding and paint. So for now I'm finishing the sides. I made the second side in exactly the same way as the first:

Once I had glued it to the case just like the previous I then used filler to fill the gap between floor and sides:

I then sanded the filler down:

I also got time to put filler on the PCI backpanel:

Sorry about the small update, the setting time of the glue and filler used up most of my time.

Really nice progress mat, sorry if you mentioned it already but are you going to paint the case or powder coat it?

Thanks AnG3l, the MB tray, top and front will be left brushed, but the PCI back panel, and the bottom side parts which I've just made will be spray painted matt silver, and the mesh I'm going to use for the top and front will be spray painted satin black.

Have a look in halfords or any good car shop and get some filler primer, it'll take all the scratches and marks out, then just rub down flat and prime as normal, you'll save you're self a lot of hard work.

Will do if I have any small scratches, thanks :thumb:

Today I glued in the bottom plate of the PCI backpanel and put filler in the gap:

I then sanded down the parts I had put filler on yesterday:

Sorry if my log is a bit boring at the moment, it should get more entertaining soon, as after the priming it will be time for the sandcasting.

    nice work.

I think resanding the not perfect spots and use primer again will help with them. Maybe go down at the end to some finer grid?

All in all a very nice build! :thumb:

Think this is the best bet... though I'm not sure if you can apply it over primer... worth a shot.

Starting to look like a real nice case though, can't wait for the sand casting  no idea what you're going to make like that but dying to see :D

Thanks everyone :D, yeah the primer with some fine grade wet & dry seems to have done the job (see below). I've just got to find a material to make the mould for shaping the sand, I may use the REP foam that I used to mould my last mod although I'm not sure whether it could withstand having the sand compressed onto it, so I may have to use a large block of wood.

    Heres the next update:

    After lots more filling:

I forgot to mention I'm using a two part car filler for all this.

Heres the pics after I've sanded off the excess filler and given it another coat of primer:

And here it is after its first coat of silver paint:

Its abit spotty at the moment but the next two coats will fix that, I'm just waiting for it to dry for 24hr now so I can sand this layer with some 1000 wet and dry to smooth it all, ready for the final layers. More pics of this and the other side will be coming tomorrow, I had to rush out and didn't have time to take more pics today.

I also used a work lamp to warm up the aluminium to set the paint faster:

Tomorrow after its all dry I'll very very carefully remove the masking tape.

Pretty amazing to see such a construction devoid of rivets and screws. :thumb:

Are you thinking of applying a few coats of clear to the case? I know from
experience that the silver I've used in the past, catches a finger print and won't
give it up. Plus the added depth of the finish with five or six coats of clear is
    terrific.
