Wowwwww. That is awesome. Very smart. I actually like how it looks before it is sprayed too.
That's exactly the technique I used to build a table about 2 years ago. I had a complex shape that would have been damn near impossible to make (aka have the whole match the plexi cutout) so I ended up just pouring resin to back fill it. Works a treat man! Looks pretty damn awesome!
Impressive stuff, look forward to seeing more
Lovely detail .
One seriously awesome-looking beast!
Cool. Will the resin be backlit?
for some strange reason I stopped getting notifications about this build... thought it was on hold. Manually checked and KABOOOOM! 10+ pages of drool ! It's all coming together with so much awesomeness I can't believe my eyes! Fantastic
wow... very nice work
Thanks , yeah me too, I eventually went for the spray paint to make a better colour contrast between all the silver and the shapes.
Thanks Sixfootsideburns yeah its a load easier to do and look just as good. I bet you used rather a lot of resin to do a table.
Thanks GravitySmacked, Waynio, Combatus
Cheers for the awesome comments Evenge, RonanH, ColdzeroTeam
Heres the next update, sorry about the wait.
First off I JB welded the panel onto the case and soldered in some LED's:
I put in a little loop for when the door is opened and closed:
I then wired the top panel:
I'm using 5V and have chosen resistors that don't give the LED's the power they are capable as I've got so many LED's in parrellel and some will have lower resistance than other, so even if they do allow more current through they wont be overloading:
I then JB welded the top panel onto the case:
oooh my heaven that looks amaaazing!! That light strip is super!
I would do unspeakable things to that case...
Fantastic work so far
Joined this build very late but just gone through it all and well "Fantastic Scratch Build!"
Resin insets look the B's Knees, wouldn't mind giving them a go in the future!
Now you did it. If we start seeing a billion people doing blue cases instead of orange we know who started the trend.
Thanks for doing an awesome case. It's not too late to change it all to orange.
Oh my. this is looking incredible. Those LEDs on the sides and top are just like you modeled, and they look awesome.
This looks just amazing. I seriously wish I had the ability and patience to do this myself.
+1 - well deserved.
The last pic makes me thing you should wire them up to cycle like a landing strip.
