    Project: Blue Mist

By chance one day I stumbled across a post in another forum titled “best pc ever”, it brought me to bit-tech where I sat in silence. jaw on the floor and read the whole ORAC project. I looked over through the forums and came across loads of other great mods. I thought, I want something that looks as good as that!! My current pc has a standard window panel and some poor quality braiding. I have just bought new hardware for a completely new system, which was really expensive considering I am only young with a weekend job. So all of the modding had to be budgeted.

When it comes to cases only one thing makes me drool…Lian Li’s. I invested in a Lian Li PC 61. I don’t have the time to do my own paint job, so I will lay down what I have already done, and what I plan to do.

    First off, the system….

    AMD 64 3500
    ASUS A8V Deluxe
    OCZ PC3200 Platinum EB RAM
    Sapphire X800 Pro
    Audigy 2ZS
    MSI DR8 DVD-RW
    2* 160GB Maxtor Diamond Max 9's
    Antec 430W PSU

This is the first time I have built a system and done proper modding, so I thought I might aswell have another first...water cooling, using the following..

Danger Den A64 TDX CPU Block
    Danger Den Clear Reservoir
    Black Ice Extreme Rad
    Hydor Seltz L30

Now compared to some this is gonna be a fairly simple project, just little things brought together to complete the over all look, but I like the look, nice straight edges, with a neat case. Naaah thats just an excuse, I'm too poor really :miffed:

First off, my new dremel :D

I hate the standard grill on the mobo tray, so my first step was to get rid of that.

    What came away...

Still some extra sanding to be done, I know its on the back and won't be seen, but I still want it to look nice.

I removed the extra hard drive storage because that is where the radiator is going to be, the main part of it unscrewed, but there was a little piece left over held with rivets. Break out the drill!! I got rid of that.

Nice comptuer though, that would run doom 3 twice.

ya that is a quite a nice system, i just spent $460 and got a 64 bit 3000+ and a Asus K8V deluxe and that is not cheap, got some really nice hardware, now that hardware just needs a nice case, so this should get very intasting, (watching this one)

True, true, but I'm not even old enough to drive :grr:

Cut a hole above the mobo tray, to help keep the wires tidy.

The bottom of the case was looking boring and ugly, especially after the rivets were gone, so I got some diamond chequerplate and lined the bottom.

Finished with the 120mm blowhole. The other hole is so I can mount the resevoir, it takes up two drive bays, but I only have one drive. And they can still be occupied with fan controllers, switches etc.

My faithful companion, he guards all my hardware at night :)

Speaking of hardware.... :D , sorry for some of the pics being blurry, I just got a camera and I haven't figured everything out yet, plus its not very good(with me being poor now)

A sneak peak at my window panel, I tried to keep it simple as its my first time with a dremel. Also, this may not be the main window, perhaps just a 'backup' of the stock one. I had so many spare panels around I thought I would mod one :dremel:

This is midway in the leak test, now finished. I'm gonna fit the system in the case tomorrow, fingers crossed, dont wanna mess up :duh:

Looking good. Not the best guard dog though :sigh: If there some one did try to steal the stuff i dont think the dog could do more than yipp (no offence, but the liitle dogs yipp not bark) and bite at their ankles which does hurt after a couple of bites. Ohhh yeah, how do the **** do you get all those parts with a weekend job????!!!??? Is you job robbing the local 7/11?
