It blows upwards but there is a vent directly to the side of it, so I guess most of it will be going out of there. The temp is fine anyway!
Cool (sorry, bad joke!).. I think personally I'd make a small duct to encourage the air out of the case - that way the CPU fan would also be a case fan. I'm sure the temps are fine, I'd do it anyway - better to be safe than sorry!
Nice work, is that a hercules monitor as it looks like their 19inch one that they didnt release in the end? Edit: Ah its a 14inch tft. Whats it like as it would look ace next to my 17incher?
It's a lovely little monitor - sharp picture and I think it looks great. I got it from a computer fair.
"splendid" now that's a word you don't hear too often nowadays. I love the mini-itx... I made a HTPC out of the Epia via m9000 and an old broken VHS chassis. I'm thinking of doing a similar project to what you have for a router/server. It looks awesome
Im currious if that monitor can be mounted on to a LCD arm. If it can, did you ever think about mounting the case to the back of the LCD to further reduce its footprint?
solar i love this case, it's dimensions are almost the same as the mod I am currently working on ... http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=91995 Do you have any pics of the internals? I am curious how everything is arranged internally. Looks amazing bud, great work, simple clean and purdy Vazz
Nah, peripherals are one of the few things MS does really well. My MS mouse is currently mousing on a Linux system too. All the LInux or BSD systems at work seem to have MS keyboards & meese! Great case; the blue really looks good. Are you sure there's no room for a bloooo LED or three?
Wow, I just noticed this thread got resurrected from over a year ago.. impressive! Well.. an update. The Blue Penguin sat on my desk and was used regularly for several months, but I found it to be a bit sluggish for everyday desktop use. I put an extra 256mb of RAM in there (another stick of RAM was such a tight fit that the top started to bulge slightly ) but I think the main problem was the slow laptop hard drive. Eventually I found a linux distro that works almost perfectly on my laptop (Yoper) so the Blue Penguin was retired. I am currently in the process of converting it into a file server for my network. I've replaced the fan with a heatsink for silent operation, and I'm currently pondering some different ideas for a new case (it'll need to be bigger as it's having a full size hard disk and a CD ROM). I'll be sure to post a project log on here when it's done Cheers for the interest guys. PS the little 14" monitor is now plugged into my laptop, mmm.. dual-head goodness.
