Why not try stripping the annodization first, then paint it. It might make the paint stick easier, but i don tknow that much about annodization...
I hope the paint isnt to scratchable, because that wouldnt be good later on down the road...

Keep up the good work :)

Thanks, nope the paint isnt that scratchable... I think that paint is specially designed to be used on bare metal/ non primed areas... When I said it would scratch, I meant if you dropped it on a hard surface :) The second one is almost dry, and I will update with pics later on.

    Hard Disk cooler Finished!!

Well its been a long 2 days... Im just home from a 6 hour shift at work, and the paint was dry so I put the cooler back together. Lol waiting for paint to dry is soo boring :p . Here are some pics of the cooler all newly painted... The paint on the second al bar loks really neat!! I did it in loads of really light coats, so I think thats why.

My brother is in a CSS match downstairs, and we share the 8Mb connection through a Router connected to the LAN in our house, so ill have to upload the rest later when he finishes :grr: He tells me im lagging him... pfff in my day you dealt with the lag and got on with it :hehe:

I would have recommended hacking the router and turning down the speed a few Mb/s

    PSU Modding...

Err not sure what you mean... elaborate please? thx :)

Anywho, while I was waiting for the water cooling kit to come into stock in the UK, I had been fiddling with my PSU, which was bought along with the case months ago...In case youve forgotten, it was a 600W seasonic S12 model. Matte black, with the most stable voltage apparently. Its also immensely quiet (I put one in my brothers new PC at christmas, and you just cant hear it at all!) so it should go along with my "silent water cooled" theme.

Didnt take a pic of it beforehand, so heres one 'borrowed' off the internet...

As you can see, its just a messy beast with all those multicoloured wires. Not bad plugs though...

Well it got sleeved bit by bit (boring bit of modding this, but worth it none the less) and I decided not to open the casing on this one to finish the sleeving inside. A few reasons for this: 1. Ive modded PSU's before, then theyve gone faulty and the manufacturer wont touch it cos the warranty is void.
    2. This thing cost me £102, and I dont want to break it :(
    3. I was solderin an LED fan into a PSU once, and one of the capacitors hadn't discharged, and it threw me against the back wall of my workshop. Since then ive been wary of them...

This is as far as ive got with it... Will keep working on it a little at a time.

    Fitted the mounting plate...

OK thought I might as well put this in as well... The eclipse comes with 2 hard disk LED's, for 2 hard disks (duh lol). At the moment, I only know of server motherboards and raid setups that have dual HDD LED headers, so I will wire the two HDD LED's together to make both flash with the activity of my drive...

I have changed them from the standard Blue, green, green (from top) to this, red white, green.

What the bezel looks lie, for them...

I intend on changing the bottom LED to white as well as the middle one. Something tells me they should all be red tho... comments and suggestions plz!

I personally dont think a power led is neccesary, as you prolly know when the computer is on :p
I think that the green should def. go... Maybe 2 red leds, or just 2 white leds...

    Solar eclipse concept art

OOkay then so I was at work last night and I have a colleague there who has a modified car, and he shares the same interest as I do in moddin things like PC's, cars etc... He was tellin me about this guy that does airbrushing up north from here, and I was thinking of making the 'bulletproof eclipse' Theme a little more appaernt on the case. If it doesnt cost tooo much, id like this guy to have a go at painting a red solar eclipse on the back panel of the case. Here are some attempts that I fiddled with last night in paintshop... Im not that good, so if anyone is a little better, additions and ideas would be welcome! What do people think? I need to know!!!

This is the current PC set up in my room, (bit untidy atm with the camera dock on top etc) you can see that the whole opposite window side of the case is visible when its there, so I thought the new one should have a nice pic or painting on it maybe... Thats why I came up with this idea.

Hmm lol thats the one I like as well! Think im going up there tomorrow to price the airbrushing job... Its on the black anodised panel... again im not sure about this one. If painted over, the paint will be left with a pattern in it. I dont mint that, as the rest of the case will be the same, but I would be worried about the paint not wanting to stick to the anodised aluminium. Remember this is the outside of the case, and the finish would have to be matte to match the rest of the case. Anyone any thoughts on this?

Yes!! Knocked me off my feet, and I hit the back wall of the workshop... My arm was numb for 30 mins, then the pain came and stayed for about an hour. It was one of those massive caps in an old PSU...

But this is anodisation, you cant sand that can you? and I dont want to ruin the rest of the panel, remember, this picture is only gonna go in the middle of the panel, I still want the rest of the anodisation around it to match the other case panels...If this guy im gonna get to do it is worth his salt, he'll know what to do anyway. Hes a pro airbrusher apparently...

Maybe a round tinted window thats risen a little off the sidepanel and then a EL wire of red underneath to give out a little glow?
