Hey and welcome to the *CHEAP B4ST4RD* project (numbers so avoid swearing natch). -Well im a pretty experienced overclocker, and have always modded heatsinks and the like with what evers lying around for performance. But my ugly ugly case has fianlly pushed me too far, its time for my first CASE MOD. -To kick off may i appologise for the bad picture quality. -With a budget of just £30 I'm gunna make this case look good in any cheap way i can. -As you can see form the below picture my case lives in a backless/frontless wooden boxy type thing on the underside of my desk. -I leave the side panels off my case for a lil more air flow, and because im generally too lazy to put them back on...but u cant see the sides anyway so who cares. -Therefore this mod will basically be to tart up the front of my case...which by the way costs all of a tenner! -oh and yes thats a nasty black drive. -Quite the challenge eh? -Well heres the plan: 1> the top half is set back slgihtly, so will be fitted with a plexi door. 2> the 2 drives will be sprayed the same blue as the side strips there. 3> the LEDs will all be replaced with Blue LEDS. 4> the 2 spare front drive slots will house a super bright 80mm blue fan 5> 3 super bright laser LEDS will be fitted behind the plexi. 6> i will also be buying and modding a nu psu. 7> more fans will be fitted to the case including a top blowhole. 8> these fans will be controlled by a fan controller (pyramid fan controller, just makes life easier with all the connection) 9> touches such as blue thumbscrews etc will be added. ^ for under £30, the game is afoot!
Im afraid i gave in and cheated i bought a nice shiney miroor finish aluminium case....stealthdrives, hdd caddies, wheels, the lot. I will however be adding a window, various cathodes, and stealthing some drives etc...
