tnks for the positive reactions. as an thanks for that i will give you another update I've welded the side towers to the case himself. the front and back will be removable for easy edditing and replacement by future updates Made a hole to start using the "knabbelschaar" (don't know the english word for it, its an tini pin witch moves very fast up and down and cuts the metal. after the finishing touch with dremel and sandpaper this is the result. But one thing left: Not even a child finger would pass this fanguard mounted with 4 m-8 bolts. there is some small space between the guard and the side tower, but thats because i didn't thighten the screws. the 120mm fan is'nt realy needed, because the system is'nt getting hot. But it looks great. And it's also prepared for future updates.
"knabbelschaar" means "The-machine-that-makes-holes,-and-can-really-****- things-up-if-you-don't-know-how-to-use-it" fortunately you know how to use it good job my friend! Keep em coming
yeah, past few days it was good modding wheater: I started with this: I made 4 pieces of metal, exactly the same size of the plexi. the plexi will be hot-glued beneath them. the hole in the metal part is to let the light come true. After that i welded them at the bottom: Also the top of it needs to be finished, i had some hi pressure tube (used for hydraulic and fuel too i tought) That would be nice to use as an cable guide. The ring on the first pic is just for testing. the second pic shows the result. After mounting the diamont plate with button and power/HDD led it looks like this: I will ad more popnails to it, but i'm running a bit out of them so i had to buy some more And of course there should be a top on the case. D Also on the triangle i'm going to add some more popnails. Well, let me hear what you think about it
Hi there ferry, Your case is looking really nice so far. It really does look like some random peice of equipment that you might find in an old factory somewhere. The "broken" effect on the top of the case is a nice touch, too Looking forward to seeing many more updates. I know you mentioned that this case would have a "rusted" look, similar to piloux's case. Are you planning on painting it to achieve that, or are you just going to leave the case naturally rusted? Sorry if I missed that somewhere along the way. If you are planning on painting it, I think you should make one or two pieces look clean (kinda like the way it is now). I think it just adds to that industrial, thrown-together-from-a-bunch-of-parts, look. Just my 2¢. Keep up the good work!! Mod on -monkey
thanks alot. The top "hole" will be left as it is now, i removed the real sharp edges, so it's not like a sharp blade anymore About the colors: I think i'm going to use some UV reactive paint at the front towers, at the bottom where the UV plexiglass is mounted, to give it an look like it is leaking fluid. At the inside i will make the most parts black with some damage and some rust at it. To let it look like it hase been more safely protected than the outside. The idea of keeping some parts clean sounds good, for example i could keep some parts free or rust and add only some brown paint on it (like the powercable's) and scratch it a little bit.
