Whooooa crap, I have officially about 24 days to finish this case and 3 of those 4 of those days I'll be with my gf so really I have 20... and I have to get the other cases ready as well... and I have the flu... anywho, just a small rant.

On to the Update!

We left off on the ebony with not that much left to do. The next joints would be the bottom joints along with the bottom piece that connects all the slats:

And next, the cross bar thing. this is a test piece:


I did two test pieces. Gotta get that ebony to look like the oak one:

But now i have to cut the bottom pieces a bit to accept the cross piece. It sticks out by this much:

Looks great! That black wood is something else. It is cool to see your ideas come forth beyond your previous more asian inspired designs.

 

@Breach - It's inspired by the Beijing Digital Building for the 08 Olympics... so technically still very Asian inspired.

Looking absolutely fantastic mate... cant wait to see it come to life.

As always you continue to impress me. Ebony is one of my favorite woods, and the work you've done with it is just awesome, good job!

 

Things are going well now. I took a few days off to see my g/f and recover from a nasty bout of strep throat but I have tons of work to do and i'm mildly freaking out since I have to not only finish this case, but rebuild Sangaku as well. Good luck to you too man,

 

Hey everyone I figured I'd give you guys an update since I owe you all one. The case is pretty much complete (sorry for the lack of updates but I was working like crazy) but you will have to wait until the final article for the pictures and such of it which should be out in October? I went to the Nvision08 event (as did Bod) and was extremely dissappointed in the case competition (since they obviously did not take their pointless criteria into consideration at all). Despite CPU living up to their reputation of picking usually bad/boring cases for their even worse magazine, I am very proud of the case and I can't wait to show it to you all.

 

Shame you didn't get a placing. The case that won was pretty piss poor I think. Craig and Bad's mods were much better. I was hoping to see yours in the top three, a real shame.
