OK.. Time for an update
As i promised i will show you what the rust looks like now:




Now i put in some screws to look like bolts in the front then painted it with the iron coat.. heres what it is so far..

I plan on making some spike/tower looking things at the top like this.. (to go along with the City17 theme)

The rust looks pretty good, but as alot of other people have said, its been overdone in the short life it has had...

why not make a really techy looking computer as the half-life 2 engine is a marvel of its time, or a science theme, or something other than rust...

and on another note, bandwith whoring is frowned apon

 

Its too late now.. but uhhh.. good idea anyway. I am going to try and make it as original as possible.. i just want to keep the Half-life 2 theme and I like the rust. The building tower theme is what is going to make this mod stand out you just whatch!

ok.. just a few new things.. i got a nice dremel that i am going to use to cut the side and top window/fan holes


This is not too good of a picture the rust looks wierd but here is the front rusted

I realy realy like the rust paint. IMO that even looks better then Piloux's. Even though the way his case turned out is beyond my imagination. I would realy like to know what paints you used and how you did it. Maybe you could post a guide in the that forum. Would realy appreciate any info. Mods looking real nice. Mod on

 

the front looks good! but you shouldn't have bought the cordless dremel.... you can't use it for long periods at a time... and it's heavier than the ones with cords..

That case really looks like my old P!!! box from the top. The bezel has that wavy look from the top angle. What brand of case is that, or do you know?

 

This paint is called instant rust by the company Modern Options it comes in a set of two... the instant iron which is like a first coat that actually has iron bits in it.. so when you put the second coat on.. the instant rust which is a acid/oxidant it really makes the rust effect look nice! You can find these producs online.. or just go to some of the craft/hobby stores that are around where you live.. and look for them. If you cant find the exact Instant rust there is another name for it that is by the same company-Modern Options.. this one is called Sophisticate Finishes Antiqe Rust Set.. this is also made by Modern OPtions and does the same thing.. it comes with two bottles iron and rust. Also there are links in Piloux's first hl2 mod that show where you can grab some of this paint on-line.. hope i could help

Well... actually this dremel is pretty light.. the battery just pops out and goes to a charger.. not the whole thing it self.. and it is pretty powerfull... u cut through some metal and it was like butter anyway... ty for your comment/advise.. the next dremel i get will have a cord

If i am correct this is an old compact case.. but i really couldnt tell you.. i got two of these cases givin to me to mod how i like and thats about it Sry i couldnt help you out.. o well ty for your comments

mainly parents etc.

so if i got crushed by someone's case at a LAN party they'd phone my parents first cause they're my next of kin.

Basically he's suggesting that Bilbo has no chance of beating you.

I am not trying to beat Piloux.. there is no reason to do it because no matter what his will be better.. I am doing this for the experience and also if it turns out nice.. i will keep modding I do not want a compitition becuase i will be crushed once again ty for your comments

 

don't worry about it , there is no competition , the most important thing is to have fun by modding your case

Both this case and blackmesa are stunning cases and so I think they should both be supported and given praise as much as each other. Mods should really be judged on how much effort and ingenuity the modder put into the project.
