btw comp king, the reason you have patchy colours with the paint is *probably* due to not enough coats of paint. Lots of thinner coats are the way to go that’s for sure. You don't have to key it up each time if you spray the coats every 15 mins or so (probably less in the heat out there).

I sprayed my case last year and got through a hell of a lot of cans of paint, I think 5 coats of the colour, 2 coats or primer and 2 lacquer did the job, it looks great still so I know it worked.

One piece of advice is that you should plan everything thoroughly, I like your ideas but you don't always seem to think things through. I'm looking forward to good new pictures, if you can, get a tripod for the camera, even a really cheap one will do, you don't need to spend silly amounts on one :)

One thing I would really like to see is you taking your time over writing the posts, i‘m sure a lot of people get exasperated because your English is sometimes nonsensical.

Now, get back in the saddle and show that case who's boss.

Painting takes patience, I screwed it up the first time. I painted only one layer, and even putted the case together before the paint even dried properly. So Messing up just happens.
Just paint with multiple thin layers, and it's probably good to get a layer of primer to, depending on what you're painting.

The lighting and the colors are the best when you keep it simple. First, you need a base color, probably black, white, chrome, brushed metal or anodised. Then, you can choose one or two colors that fit that base color. I would take one base color, one filling color and one color for the highlights. My plans are to take brushed aluminium as a base, a blue color for the different components, and small red highlights. But one base color and one other color is problably just as good, and can looks very good. Just look aroud here on the forums, many mods have very few colors, but look great.

The cuts are a matter of taste, but a good mod can have simple cuts. The cuts don't make a mod, they just add. Also here, look around, many great mods just have a square window. So if you need a window, just choose a simple design, and it will look good.

The holes don't look that bad to me, but it's just a matter of opinion. Just don't make too much holes, and it will go alright. To begin simple, just make a small amount of simple placed holes in the right place. And mods usually have very few holes, so don't worry too much about this.

    That's what we're here for

Don't mind the camera too much, focus on the mod.
I used a dremel clone, a simple saw and a drill. Ok, I screwed my mod, but a giant load off tools doesn't make the mod.

If you want it sexy and bling bling, consider chrome with red or yellow lights

Just get one soldering thing, and that is probably most of what you need. And some carefull planning.

Go for a single nice color. Red or yellow will look good on chome.

If you spend a lot of money, please do plan carefully, great mods start with planning, and so do the simple ones. And with a decent planning, the mod will be better.

You mostly need your imagination and a planning to work that out.

That's the better news, not giving up :thumb:
It's good to take a good example. You even can try to make something very look-a-like for a start. Just don't dive in too deep too soon :thumb:

It's not about the tools as much as it's about PATIENCE! Don't rush into things you aren't perfectly sure about. You'll only ruin the case.

And don't give up, some ppl on these forums do modding for their living! They can put in insane amounts of money and buy any tools necessary. You don't have to compare with them, just make a case YOU are happy with.

You can use a photo editing software or copy machine or scanner/printer to resize them in any way you want, good luck. Oh, easy on the swearing.

I seem to have missed out on the whole discussion.

But all I can say: glad to see you continue, I want to see how your project turns out. Take your time for it. If you're stuck, take some distance, do something else for a while and the solution will come to you. I've been stuck a couple of times as well. I took more than a year. There are reasons for that:
    1) full-time job
    2) I wasn't that fast with hand-tools, I needed to go through a learning process
    3) (and most important) I thought about everything I was going to do and how best to do it.

Don't let anyone or anything rush you. If something doesn't work out, look around on the internet or ask it here.

    Just my thoughts...

    download them.

open them with windows picture displayer thing

    press edit with paint

go to print, properties, and select fit to page and make sure the print will be 100% of origonal size. if you must, use landscape.

    then press print

have you tried maybe using body filler to smooth over the bad parts? did u use primer before painting... that can cover up some light stuff... also maybe use some rubber tubing cut down the middle to cover up the "bad" cuts...

Did you sand the paint? That big drippy spot on the top panel could be fixed with some 400 sandpaper. Sand that spot down and paint it again. Get a file and file the fan holes until they're smooth and round, and bondo those deep gouges and that other messed up spot on the front, and repaint them. Slow down, take your time, and you'll get it right first time. Half of it is preparation. It took me 5 months to paint my case, from primer to colour to clear. Its not a very quick process.

to get a good paint job, you need LOTS of sanding. check out some other worklogs to see how they sanded. thehourbeforedawn's project is quite informative about sanding
