use a hole drill such as LINK!! that is a tidy (and Quick) way of producing fan holes then maybe tidy up with some tubing on the edge [/quote] looks like a job for bondo to me lay lots of small layers then sand in between up to about 800 grit to finish then primer to check for any last irregularities looks like a residue from an old sticker to me white spirit should clear that up. alot of people claim a product called 'glue gone'? does a great job i am a bit like you at the moment as in my skill is not that great with modding. however i intend to be very good in 5 years time so i will continue to practice and read forums to gather all the info that i can i heard a quote once that went along the lines of if you try something and fail you have succeeded in finding a way not to do it. now im not saying youve failed by anymeans as i love the shot of the back of your case its justa step towards greatness. you must remember that alot of the people here use industrial techniques such as CNC machines and powder coating so to compare against that is impossible. my aim is in 5 years to have a nice shed at te bottom of my garden kitted out with some nice tools but im some way off that yet all the best computerking
Nice camera, CK! You should remember to sand the case a bit before painting the primer. That way the paint sticks better to the case. Use a file to smooth the edges of the fan holes, and when they are smooth, take some thick wire, and cut it open, get the crap out of there and glue the wire's rubber thingy on the edge of the hole. That way you'll get a nice finish
thanksssssssssssss , I really Loved the solutions Thanks I will see what will happen with me goodluck Thanks dudes , Take care
Great mod, keep up the great work. You've got a huge amount of sweet images, always hate it when there aren't enough images in a project log. You're left thinking that you don;t really "know" that the project "is", but in this case, you've got loads of great images.
Thanksss Guyss, Im telling every one here , I Will make you proud of me Soon Thanks , now time To think , If any one have any more thing to add tell me
Hey CK glad u took note of the things necro had to say. the mod not looking that bad m8 u just gotta find the enthusiasm switch and turn it down a lil and slow down at the same time. refine a few bad points and u got a top job there. hope the guys at bit-tech dont mind me linking but i found a nice paint guide ova at boxgods u should check it out. linky
Hullo ComputerKing! I'm glad to see that you have this mod going in the right direction now! To tell you the truth, I was a bit worried reading at the begining of this thread, but it seems like you have narrowed down your ideas to something that will work and look nice... given that you take your time and pay attention to detail. =) IMHO, less is more.. and if you keep it simple/clean you'll have more time to spend on the finnish of things. As for tools needed... lot's can be done with manual tools, so you don't _need_ many power tools, but they may cut some time off the modding process. A handheld powerdrill is almost a must, and I presume you allread y have one. Tin-snips and a files are nice tools! Tip: cutting inside your drawn guide lines and then filing the last parts of a mm, will give you a clean finnish. Also, if using a tin-snips (red or green) to cut fan holes, only cut with the tip of it to avoid the sheet metal bending when cutting close to your guidelines (at least, this is how I do it). Googled a couple of guides for you: - Spooky's Painting Guide - Modding & cutting with tin-snips I hope this helps a little and good luck with your modding!!
WOWOW DUDE , you the best , OMG this are awesome Guides , WOW , NICE brother I don't know what to say , But thank you for take care of me . OMG , You are nice person , Thank you
Hi again CK. You're most welcome! Seems like I was a bit too quick about posting that painting guide... after second looks I noticed the author of the guide didn't quite get that 100% smooth mirror finish (there's some "oragne peal" look to it). =\ Fortunally, there are several other guides out there, and I encourage you to read a few before you begin. Here's a few that look promising: Spray paint your PC case and give it a mirror finish Case Modding 101: Shatterstar's Painting Guide case mod 101: how to paint your computer case (part 2)
Thank you Dude , I'm really try to don't start now , I'm planing every thing , even the wires color and the add on things and the paint color I will take my time like the guys saying I want make it perfect I'm trying to change the 92mm fans with 120mm , I'm trying to fix this small holes to put the 120mm mm also I got new things from radio shack and some nice things you will like them I say that this project will continue after I get my self ready Thanks for all advises and notes ,,, I will keep it up soon , sorry for no updates , I just want it be good , no rush See ya soon , Take care

Hey I want to ask Q : Can I add things to my case from wood and fix the holes from wood and they will look nice or no !! what else I can add to it ! Thanks
if i joined a forum to look at sand i would have join a forum to do that, this is a computing forum! lol Maybe if you turn the sand into computer chips i would be interested! lol Can you make your last post clearer? what is it you wish to do with wood?
lol ok I was just want share I want built on my case , add body to it !! the wood will work with me or what
You can use wood as a base and put fiberglass or bondo on it, but I wouldn't put plain wood on a case unless its some highly polished and varnished mahogany. Using it as a basic shape is harder than using, say, hardening foam, because its tougher to work with.
