To be honest with you, the average person is not going to know the difference.

As you said; RC-cars will do the trick. If you make sure the weight of the computer get spread to the 4 wheels, so they wont break, i see no problem. I don't hope you want it to be an actual racing car :S

But with a simple RC-car motor you should be able to do the trick. The cheap cars you can buy on sales at supermarkets are pretty easy to tear apart. The body is just like a platic chassis (Or what its called hihi) with 4-6 screws on the bottom of the car.

The hard part about this would be tearing the wheels apart in order to make them fit with the corners of your computer. You could make a custom-bottom to your computer where you mount 4 wheels like these:

This would take some of the presure from the actualy RC wheels. But again, youll have to find a balance between the presure on the RC-car and the normal wheels. Cause if the RC-wheels dont get enough presure im not sure the will be able to turn the computer and make it stear where ever you wanna go.

But if you want the expensive and best solution, i suggest you find a RC-shop/hobbyshop and look for a car with the same button dimensions as you computer..

Lol, i know it's alot of text, but this is just some of my thoughts :p

If u want to move that case u need som real stuff.
The wheight demands a big motor. Own experiense say a small RC-car motor won't move that thing. And u need a custom built wheel system.
As long as the wheels can carry the case, a bit bigger sized motor will move it.

oh man, cant you just buy yourself lian li or stacker and get over it.
dont you think if you put that cassette driver in your computer and go to a lan everybody's gonna laugh at you.who uses cassettes, even disc's to play music?Dont do crazy stuff like lifting doors, mics, camera's inside your case, just get some lian li u like and get watercooling in it.It should be enough, also it'll certainly look better

Put up or shut up, Axel. He's modding, haven't seen you do anything. Another unimaginative Lian-Li with the obligatory watercooling wouldn't be as interesting as this. And people have used retro components in mods before (old tv...can't remember name of project, old servers etc.). Constructive criticism is much better than what you're doing. Don't be a little troll.

Edit: You already were one with the "Who likes bald guys thread"

Maybe if you think about a monster truck motor or something with tank tracks it would be possible.

For the wheel system. It's the simplest design avable and is used on realy cheap RC-cars but offers only 2wd drive.

Use an axle, two gears(with low ratio), any wheels that fit on the axle and the motor. Atach stiff onto the chassi.
U might be able to use a normal RC-car motor, but u need a realy low ratio on the gears, and a high performance motor.
U just have to construct it yourself cause I don't know if u can find already made ones.

WOW !!! brother this look very good !!

1st , I will try to find a big RC car like the hummer or this big with good motor ! after that I will mod the wheels to make them bling bling also the motor will be pimped with some electronics things to make it push to the maximum :D

It will have low ratio .. I will find that by trying , mean the space between the floor and the bottom of the case .. I think it will be kick ass .

2nd , the up and down door the plans completed , now I will buy the 300mm (12") Stroke 68Kg (150lb) Force Linear Actuator , this better than fcking crazy idea :D Mercedes heheheheh

this photo will show the size of the actuator .. and this some spec things

    Low noise design
    Enhanced corrosion resistance
    Aluminum outer and inner tube
    Zinc alloy housing
    Powder metal gears
    Lubrication for longer life
    Small compact Design

    How it works

3rd : I will get aluminum plates to fix the wrong cuts in the case .

4th : I will pimp the cassette deck and get new motor and some electric parts for it .. also the amplifier some things need to change then they will back in rock ...

so the main plans in the end now , now I will complete them and start choice the colors and the themes and etc.....

so guys I wish that June Come soon :( I wait it :)

Thanks very much for your support

Hey Computerking, I love reading your threads cause you have some of the craziest ideas, and you don't let it stop you from trying.

For moving your computer around like an RC car, Tank treads would probably be your best option for support and mobility. It would look the business rolling down the street on the way to a lan, bumping out a mixed tape with your cassette adapter (which is also retro-awesome).

I'm not quite sure how plentiful the hobby shops are in the UAE so you might be better off buying them from the internet. If you google for RC Tanks you will find plently of links to Airsoft Tanks. Those will be a great inspiration but most likely won't be able to support the 20-30 Kgs that a decked out computer will weigh.

So now to the actual meat of this post. Robotics. If you want to carry a load like that with any type of speed you will need robotics level hardware.
This is just to give you an idea of the kind of power if you want it to be effective.

And now I present a terrible MS Paint chop-up.

OK, I feel I must interject here. For you, my modding bothers (and you know who you are; Mod sees all), have sinned.

Ye who have turned your back on Mod, and worship the false idols of pre-modded towers and expensive watercooling bling.

Ye who have lambasted an enthousiastic true believer for his questionable command of English, yet ye speak not a word of his mother tongue.

Ye who have mocked this believer's vision, saying that they are unworthy and that he is to be ridiculed and outcast, yet you have not produced a mod more original and more true to the spirit of Mod than his.

Ye are guilty. Guilty of one of the seven deadly sins as proclaimed in the Good Book of Modding: Pride.

Modding judges not. Modding is not boastful, or vain. Modding is for the joy and love of it. Modding is what makes us human. Each mod is worthy, an accolade to artistic vision, a testimony to the human urge to build and create. For to mod is human. From the first cave drawings in Ur to the finely spraypainted and wax polished towers of LAN, we all share that same spirit. To see; to pick up tools, and to impress that vision on reality.

We all like to poke a bit of good-humoured fun, but let's keep it within limits. No more dumping on this thread for Computerking's English or his outrageous ideas. Or I will smite thee with my righteous wrath, OK?
