This is the type of case a sportscar enthusiast like myself ought to buy off the shelf.

Killer work as usual Paul! :dremel:

Cheers Bill and everyone else for that matter for the excellent feedback and comments:thumb:

Time creeps ever closer to CM the closing date so i got to get my skates on if i'm going to get finished in time.

Quite a bit to add but nothing real exciting so i'll try and make some sense of the progress.

First off got the back of the door painted in matt black and added some blow hole trim just to keep things looking tidy when the door is open:)

Then had to cut out the top of the Cosmos chassis and fabricate a grill/bracket type thing out of the waste aluminium from the window cut (waste not want not) to hold an X-Flow 250 radiator up top which was riveted into place then the whole chassis went off to powder coat in flame red similar to the SLR interior.

Chassis looks awesome so then it was onto chopping up the hard drive caddy so the 140mm fan could fit - so basically i've lost one which isn't much of a sacrifice really.

Just chopped out a bit of the centre section and added a couple of threaded rods with aluminium tubes slid over........which were polished so everything still looks cool.

And that's about it..........till next time

Red :jawdrop: Wow, that came unexpected.
It's nice that you're having everything powdercoated, I still do everything with rattle cans...

You should try it sometime... Its somuch tougher and you don't even have to put the work in to make it shiney!

We just added a Powder Coat Service to our store inventory so it seemed only right i try it out though the chassis was always going to be flame red like the SLR interior.

Mankz is right though, much tougher finish so less chance of chipping than rattle cans

True, but when I use rattle cans I can really say I did it myself ;) Also the problem is I don't know any place to have it powdercoated without spending a fortune.

Tell me you're gonna change the plastic parts (or paint them) and you'll polish that cover thing, please? ;)

The red looks nice, I think "flame red" fits perfectly with the color. It'll look the **** with the "center console" in place. BUT I always thought, and still do, these silver fans look too plastic for my taste. Then again, maybe that's what you're aiming for. Great work as usual!

smoty contender here, many hot cars have red interiors, red leather is uber sexy.

    * smoty = sexiest mod of the year btw

Nothing much of interest happening so just a quick update on mounting the chrome Black Ice GT and fans.

Nice to be able to see the fans through the vent on the back which i'll probably light up red maybe but the chrome and black against the red gives a great contrast.

i happen to disagree with you there, as its not finished, everything looks pants during the build as nothing is truly finished until its done.

i can see this case coming together really well. i had doubts as its a theme case about a car, but i still respect it for what it is. And thats a dam fine case build!
