NEVER buy IBM if you want to keep that HDD for a long time and don't want a chance of it getting destroyed somehow.
2 of my 2 IBM 307030 drives died after 5-6 months.
I can NOT recommend IBM at all.
    Seagate and Maxtor are fine.

Hehe, I have an IBM hard disk (came with this OEM comp) , its DTLA-307030 and a month or so ago was emitting the "click of death" sound when i tried to scandisk/defrag/virus scan... amazing its actually stopped and has not failed yet, tho i do not trust it at all. Also 32mb of bad sector

I own 2 running RAID 0, one at the office and just built 2 systems with them... IBM IMO are really good... just the 75s had the big problems... all the others do work fine as far as I know...

Personally, I think it looks stupid, but then I've got an aluminium which will obviously 0wn any silly transparent plastic thing...

Why in the name of the good lord almighty do you want your machine to look like a Mac? You don't deserve to be called a modder! Go, go and stuff your head up Steve Job's bottom, play with your transparent computer, house, car, wife and babies. We'll stick with opaque stuff.
