Case Mod - In Progress Project: Cuda 440 - Matching Keyboard 4/1

Time for a new mod.

Project: Hemi-Orange Cuda



This is a present for my Brother-In-Law who is a HUGE mopar fan. He's been drooling ever since I built SuperbeePC for his parents.

In the same spirit as Superbee, my Brother in law does not know!!

The specs thus far are:

Foxconn A74MX
AMD Phenom 9150e
4GB DDR2-800
500GB SATA

Video card is still unknown

Alrighty, the victim case is the Orange In-Win F430 (review coming soon!)



This vent is the dumest thing ever thought of. It's nearly totally useless, minus it's "cool look"



Fortunately, it comes right off!

Here's where I'm cutting. This case needs a window with an intake fan, not a vent



The drive bays have a bit of mesh on them, but not the see through kind



I've already taped off the panel where the window will go



And painted the bays. I'm not sure what I'm going to have besides a DVD drive, so the painting is "just in case"



I put the bays back in, for now.




More done.

I added the first DVD drive. I say that because there may be more



I got my Motherboard



And added the Phenom x4 9150e



Here's the 500GB My Book I got at Office Depot for $39!!



And in the flesh



There were no obvious screws so I had to pry it open



And there you go, a 500GB internal SATA drive



I cut out the window too. I will clean it up tomorrow night



Next up is the window. When you look inside you'll see....

Office Depot. They had a huge external hard drive clearance.

The window cut is done. I still need to buy more rubber trim for the plexi

 

my uncle has a 71 cuda im going to show him this thread for sure

 

put an nvidia gfx card so he can use nvidia cuda technolgy (or whatever the hell it's called)!

 

I like the paintjob on that case Are you going to stealth that DVD drive?

EDIT: does that power button say "Start Engine"? Thats sweet

 

Yes it does. I may stealth the drive.

It's gonna look a hell of a lot better than this, but it helps me visualize the goal

 

It should say Hemi instead of 440!!

After watch Barrett Jackson the past week I learnt that. lol

 

nice start and nice colour choice!

 

That is worth pointing out; and not only that but the Hemis were all 426ci.

Great project though, based on an awesome car

I know, I miss titled the thread. The car color scheme is called "hemi-orange", that's where the hemi came from.

Can a Moderator change the title to: Project: Hemi-Orange Cuda??

 

No moderator needed, you can change the title anytime (I usually do when there's anew update!)
Go to your first post and choose edit (make sure you're logged in!)
Choose Advanced
Change Title
Save!

 

cool, I never new the color was called hemi-orange.

We can change em ourselves. Just go to first post - click edit - click advanced - and the title shows up too.
