Final update part 2 – outside pics – post 2/2

The right side, where did all those ugly cables go? It’s a bit sad that this side won’t be visible on my desk, since it’s actually the panel that came out the best…
    [IMG]

A close-up to show you the nice interaction of the bolts. The side panels come off easily with the acorn nuts.

I never took many pics of the backside. Let’s make up for that now.

    The upper part.

    Another one.

The fit between the two panel is almost seamless…
    [IMG]

There are two cables that come out of the case, they’re led through a hole in the lower panel. The long one is the S-video cable for the 5” LCD, the RCA jack powers the 8” secondary monitor.

By the way, the LianLi tray is pretty nice, look at the reflection in those PCI covers…
    [IMG]

    Finally, the 80mm didn’t want to be left out…cute isn’t it…lol.

The window-side. Look at that nice effect and contrast.

When the power is off and all the lights are out inside the case, the reflection of the smoked plexi is almost 100%. Here are the doors of a closet, far more noticable than the case innards.

At some angles the reflection is as good as any mirror.

The last shot shows the casefeet. They didn’t compress as much as I feared they would. Another success.

That’s it for the outside. I kept the best for last, next update: bling bling shots!

wow, man, your craftsmanship is simply amazing. the overall look of the mod just isnt my cup of tea, though. it doesnt seem to flow, its a little disjointed, but i just like symetrical cases. im not knocking it, im just saying it isnt what i waould do.

with that said, though i am speechless.

My only constructive crit is that i think it would look a lot better with flush screws on the out side.

Other than that, truely amasing job. Bravo!

    Jokkos,

It's nice to see it finished, looks real nice, especially the aluminum, just need to see some action shots (lights etc).

Off topic: have you got the new Rammstein DVD: Volkerball? nice live set videos and good CD.

Oh and I love that fill port so much I'm going to have to steal your idea.

    @ all: THANKS

@ soulmage: well I love the look with the M5bolts I have now, so I'm happy with it. It's a personal taste matter I think.

@ Jimbo: of course I have Völkerball...I love it's theme (graphics, font) and I'm a bit disappointed it wasn't released earlier, I would have loved to take some of the theme and use it on my case...

Pics with lights on are coming, later today!

Final update part 3 – bling pics – post 1/3

Booyah. This is the one we’ve all been waiting for. Three posts, 36 pics. Enjoy!

No extra lights on, this is just the PSU and the red ASUS led. It’s growing on me, especially with the great reflection on the fake bottom. Still a pity that it’s blue when the pc’s off and red when it’s on.

The front, no lights on. The Aquaero’s display light turns off after a while. The Aquatube’s leds give a nice effect!

The bottom panel, with Aquaero light on. Comes very close to the shade of blue of the Bulgin’s led ring.

No UV on, but all the rest is. ‘All the rest’ being a few blue and white leds.

There’s a white led-spot behind the psu, somehow it moved a bit, probably when I lead the 4-pin ATX cable through the area. It was supposed to shine on the ram, but as you see in the right, it is a bit off. Next time I open the case, I’m fixing this. It also lights up the vid card support (see previous pic).

The RCA plexis are lit by two white leds each. Gives a very dramatic effect, looks really good irl (better than the pics show).

The dreaded ASUSlogo-led. Not too bad actually. A whole lot cooler than just a red or green led.

The RCA’s leading to the optical bay.

The lights that where on till now where put out, the UV was turned on…dang!:

The leds in the front logo add a lot of light inside the case as well. The fact that they shine on the polished side panels reinforces the effect…
    [IMG]

    Let’s look at the front…

Front of optical bay and Aquatube:

    Another one with slightly different settings;

    Somewhat closer.

The top, looks good as well.

The rad. Look at that sweet purple glow coming from inside the case through the fans…
    [IMG]

While the fillport may be –imo- the best looking bit in daylight, the Aquatube gets first price –again imo- at night…it’s also a very visual indication that the water’s flowing!

Let’s have a few pics, imagine all these right after another…depending on where the ‘fountain’ is, the shine of the white led is stronger or weaker…
    [IMG]

The logo panel also came out well. I didn’t expect the effect on the mesh to be as good as it is: it’s fully see-through. Looks good for the top and middle mesh-part, with the tubing and parts of the flowmeter showing. Unfortunately it also means one can see the wire chaos through the lowest mesh, that’s another thing I’ll have to fix.

The R+ logo…this is how it all began (‘hey that would look cool as a front logo of a case…’)

    And the proud name!

Another one of the logo and the mesh…

So the time came to put on all the lights and take some final (mostly detail) shots of the inside. Here they are…

    And that’s it…

When I was selecting pics, I suddenly realised that I didn’t take a single ‘overall view’ shot of the case. I was so focused on detail shots I lost sight of the global picture. To set this straight, I took a few pics of the case on my desk, with the 3-screen setup etc… I’ll make sure I post them here soon.

For now, thanks a lot for watching. Thanks to all the people who commented in this thread, who gave helpful suggestions. It was always nice to feel backed up by all of you. It inspired me to give the best of myself and because of this, I reached new levels of accuracy, creativity and inspiration. Kudos to all of you.

Yes, you are deep in our debt for our support. I feel as though your case will make for a nice compensation for our efforts. :thumb:

    Definitely my favorite picture.

    hi all,

in a couple of days I want to benchmark the pc and also stress test it so I know the maximum values for my watercooling, to program the Aquaero.

For the VGA card I intend to run 3DMark06 for some time.

For the CPU, I'm not sure. Can you give me some suggestions? Remember it's a dual core, might be relevant?

Can someone help me and my wife to find our mouth?
It'm following this thread from one year or something like that, and the growing process was really amazing, but the finish pics are awesome!
We can't imagine this kind of beauty, the lights are perfect, the alu cutting is perfect, the cable hiding is perfect...
    What more we can say?
Kudos to you jokkos, you have the perfection in your hands...

    Jokkos,

Very nice, your attention to detail is an insperation to us all... can't wait for the 'overall' phot.

And your right about Völkerball... the art-deco / industrial style on the cover suites your mod perfectly, pit it wasn't released earlyer.

Oh, what the dimesions, so I can get rough idea of the size, it looks quite big (wide) but not too tall.

    Jimbo

PS. should be a front cover article on this.
