very nice cnc you've built there ! i wouldn't have made the spindle like that though I really want a cnc i still don't know if i'm going to build one myself or if i will buy one that is already built.
I was thinking of something like this: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.rwlsystems.com/10-32_clamps.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.rwlsystems.com/Clamps.html&usg=__j-jIw5-3xFBN4fJaJWkHsRKO2bg=&h=768&w=1024&sz=152&hl=en&start=2&um=1&itbs=1&tbnid=YDj00oBCnM-JZM:&tbnh=113&tbnw=150&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dcnc%2Bclamps%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26sa%3DX%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-USfficial%26tbs%3Disch:1
in multiplex, 3mm per pass the tolerance is not measurable i just got it friggin working finally ! Took ages to figure out problems with the cam software and finally major Problems with the wiring.
im still going guys, just a little update here, went already through 4 different pcs and rewired everything about 10 times, i think i got it now... or not ?
did i mention i dropped all my screws into my toolbox ? /facepalm (and the usual mess ) Cutting parts for the fifth and for the foreseeable future last iteration of the z axis.. (doing some pocketing here) Done... Giving the edge 45 Degrees Finished, bit of sanding... Cutting moar... Even MOAR done.. All the parts next to each other.. After glueing and sanding Assembling the laquered part ( on this pic the rest of the z axis is already done, took no pics of that though ) Final Pics.. Some closeups.. And finally the cnc Pc and yes, u can build one in less than two minutes
Now that its strong enough i will, propably tomorrow, i wanna make little holders for the end switches and sleeve the cables etc etc...
once you get your final wood version done you should get aluminum and cut the same machine out of aluminum.
Start producing the parts to make more. Should offset some of your expenses. That's a pretty sweet setup.
