Great looking machine. http://store.oneida-air.com/dust-deputy-diy.aspx you need one of these to go with that shopvac. will make it work much better, wont get plugged up.
jeah, im thinking of selling them, probably in a way like it is now, because its an ideal cost / precision tradeof, everything more rigid would be much more expensive, everything less rigid wouldnt be precise enough. Another good point is that the design is modular, I can make them pretty much any size required, were planning to extend this one to 2,5m on the y axis If anyones interested pm me...
What you need to catch dust is to set up a 5 gal bucket filled with water to suck the dust through. Set it up so the dirt coming in is forced through the water.
some new pix Setting everything up... Sketchup drawing of the parts Routing ! Lets have a look Totally foobared the first sheet, routed it out of a different one ( which was actually a different material which worked much better) And now.... LIMIT SWITCHES !!! Closeup screwed / hot glued together And a pic from the back, aint they gorgeous ?
That looks really good, i propably make something similar ! makes sense to take away the dust before it enters the vac !
I need to get one of those. Tried making something similar with some pvc and a metal trashcan. My shopvac collapsed the can! They sell those at the Home Depot for sheet rock sanders. Work great, though the ribbed hoses they provide whistle like a freaking banshee.
Yea, it's gets pretty nasty pretty quick, but better that, than a clogged up shop vac filter. I dumped mine out into an old pillow case and let it dry in the sun. It'd make a solid chunk once dried, that I'd drop in the garbage.
Soo... biggie today... Cutting 3d Shape out of styrodur (hard to see, the differences in height are not that big, but its bended in multiple directions) Routed multiplex holders for my amps in my car... Cutting front plates for speakers, again multiplex More Parts Beside each other Gluing together Sanding, first rough with a belt sander, afterwards with an excenter sander One sandet, one more to go Closeup of sanded finish Knot in the connection wire to take away the force from the screw in terminals A bit of silicone to glue in the speakers airtight Finished ( laquered one coat clear with a can ) Different project: Routing supports for a holder Finished Finished support with a longboard blank on top Starting to cut the blank Almost finished ! Finished !!!!!!
Verry nice.. Have you tried cutting any alu yet? If not, please do and let us know the results Would love to see that since im currently thinking of buying a similar router..
Did you let the silicone dry out for 24 hours before putting the speakers on? I heard the silicone fumes deteriorate speaker cones.
Awesome work lenne! I'm constantly amazed at folks who make tools to build other tools, your work is no exception.
