Project : Drum of washing machine 30/08

Hi everybody,

I present my second project call : Washlinen

I want appologie my bad english because I come from France (so if you don't understand or if i make a mistake, thanx to inform me). However, i will try to explain my project.

The idea of this mod came after a guide in an magazine that explains how to do a cupboard with three inner tubs of wash machine. So i decide to get back a inner tub to do my mod (don't laugh) and it wasn't so easy to take off from a wash machine




So before the realisation of the mod, i already done the conception of the principals components on SolidWorks 2000 (an old version).



Here a global view of each components inside the inner tub.



Then, i start the modding. I cut up each lateral panel of the tub with my favorite tool. Then i test the place of my two circular plexi panel. That look great.

 

Another test was the integration of the motherboard and pci cards. You can see on the first picture that the pci cards are not straight. That's why i create a support to maintain them and also the motherboard with a part of an old case.

 

the DVD unit was placed on the top of the tub so i cut a hole on it with my Dremel. After, i use my file to sand the edges and after used sanding paper with grip 150 to finish.

 

I also decide to mod my dvd unit. I cut the top of the drive with the Dremel and then used sanding paper 500 up to 2000 to sand the edges. A plexi panel was place just under the drive to see the cd. I test the polish and it seems quite good. I didn't finish at all.

 

The system that maintain the cd during it rotation has been took off and placed on the plexi panel.

 

After many hours, i can see the nearest result



For the feets, i buy 4 buttons for drawer that i fixed under the tub.



I stopped here but you will soon have new post until the end of the week (this week end, i'm on holiday 3 weeks so this project will be on stand by)

here my next stuff

To support the dvd unit, i used aluminium strip that i drill and band to obtain what i want.

 

Finaly, i decide to change the disposition of the components

Here what it look like. On the right, you can see the tuning components (a part of it)



To see the cd, i started to cut a circular window on the top of the tub.

 

The final works i do is the hole on the side of the tub for the access of the cd.

Looking good. It's different which is great. How do you go for putting the CDs in and out - it looks like at maximum extension the drawer only comes halfway out of the drum. Does this make it difficult to remove the CDs?

No, I don't have problem with the drawer. I test to take off a cd and it's good.
