A UPS mod, what a great idea! A spaceballs mod makes it even more kick ass.

I have that same Winnebago! Actually it's at my parent's house and now my daughter plays with it. Hmmm...maybe I need to see what other toys my parent's still have that I could build a computer in. I'll be watching this closely. :thumb:

Alrighty let's get started. I gutted the Winnebago.

    I opened the top.

And dropped in the UPS. It's a perfect fit as far as length and width, but height.....

When I measured it before I assumed that the height of the winnebago was the same on the inside as the outside. But I never really considered the bottom.

    The inside is just 17cm

    The UPS is 22cm

And the outside of the winnebago is 22cm....

I could fabricate some kind of shell with the wings attached that could go on top to cover the top of the winnebago. Or pull out the bottom and set it lower. What to do?

    I rented the movie too.

Chop the bottom and mount the wheels lower will prob be the easiest option I'd think.

How much space is wasted inside the UPS? From the 1 photo you showed there seemed to be a lot of room inside it. Is it possible to cut-and-shut the frame of the UPS and remove some of the extra space in it to make it fit inside the shell. Or a partial disassemble an relocation of some parts perhaps to make it fit better?

Go with ..Constructacon.. idea, before cutting the wagon, then you would have to cut less of the wagon..IMHO

Im glad to see this project taking off :)
I will 3rd the idea of disasembling the UPS before cutting the wagon to much.

I hope lots of pics will come soon :thumb:

Mod the UPS instead of the Winnebago. It looks like there is plenty of space between the components that you could knock of the 5 cm moving stuff closer together.

How high did you want the wings to be? Maybe just construct some sort of extended frame for the wings out of bondo or aluminum to just cover up the UPS that sticks out on top. This way you won't have to cut the winny, or change the UPS.

Edit: I think you already mentioned something like this. So, I would agree with that idea.

I think if he cuts the PS down it may overheat. But The Winner can't be cut. So I say that you Give the camper a large whole roof airscoop for the engines right?
