rofl.....I will do so....of the cats of course :)

Anyway Guys, yes, I did not update for a long time, I am just engulfed in Projects at work, have hardly time to fart......haven't done any modding for a while.....as I said, the case is now powdercoated, looks sexy with black clothing.....

Should have a sizable update soon, as I have received the following:
    1x DFI SLI-DR mobo.
    2X eVGA 6800U GFX cards
Currently using 3500+ cpu, but new 4000+ will be here in a week.

I have just assembled the mobo, SLI cards and 3500+ cpu, and running one Raptor only, with Mushkin LevelII Blacks, all aircooled, and non-overclocked, I scored a very healthy 20764 3dMark03 score :)

    See here: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=3713852

So, just some prelim aircooled stock runs, to test my Stacker Mod's new components...the weekend I will mount the 2X Innovatek GPU blocks, as well as the mobo etc into the case.

PSU is a Enermax 600W SLI-version unit, and quite beefy.

Let me know if you like the 3dMark03 score.

    3dMark05 is also quite healthy, 9306 :http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=595145

So, it will also be a performer :)

I have also ordered, and received my new steering wheel, for my racing sim, this is what this box will ultimately be used for. The wheel is the very much pro uit by ECCI, look at www.ecci6000.com for full specs on the 6000GTS wheel, with HD USB interface, clutch setup, PMBII Braking system etc.

So, after the box is done, I will tackle the racing sim frame as well, just dunno if I must make it part of this Project, or a seperate log......

    I have a plan, don't worry :)

Oh yeah, before I forget, I also obtained a brandnew 6.5" NEC NL6448AC20-02 LDC display, 640X480 resolution. Will see where I am going to fit it in....

    Will keep you posted,
    Beanie.

    Amazing mod Mr Bean!
only one thing I don't like about it....
the grille covering the small radiator is uncool,
why not get lasercut stainless or alu custom grille?
will add an element of class to the rear of the case.
perhaps even a cover for the entire back of the case???
    something new.

You mean something similar to the Aquacomputer grill on top? Yeah, it would look cool.... :) Thanx for the advice.

Anyway, last of my hardware, the FX55, arriving tomorrow. Then I can begin assembly. One small prob, my 2X Innovatek Waterblocks do not fit on the eVGA PCI-Ex 6800Ultra's. One capacitor on the lower side of the card, close to the PCI-Ex slot in the way of the waterblock. Not enough meat there to grind it away, but it seems that the Koolance once might work.

a Friend have one, and the same dual-sli setup as I, and he will check if the block will fit tonight, before I order new ones :(

    More and more money......sheeshh....

I had the same problem with my inno3d 6800gts, There was a capacitor in the way buy the bottem left of the gddr powerfets on the card. i also have the same gfx blocks as you, and they can be fitted with a little help from a dremal :dremel: cause i have done it to both of mine, now they both fit spot on now :D

Err yes there is have you ,removed the tops theres a good 1/2 a cm you can remove.

Edit: i presume u mean this cap

Thats the one that stoped me from from fitting my blocks, but a bit of dremal'age sorted that out :D :dremel:

You must have extremely large balls to dremel of a capacitor cap of your 6800 :eyebrow:

    Hello Everyone,
Thanx for the feedabck, and replies, it is appreciated!

Wrt the 6800Ultra blocks,Sc4mpi, yes, that is the capacitor, and thanx for your input as well. I did indeed ,manage to fit the Innovatek blocks to my cards, but used a different approach.

I 1st purchased 2 Koolance blocks, but, one look at them I just dumped them in my cupboard for later use - nogood for 2 6800Ultras.

I relocated the capacitor on both my cards, so no need to dremel the waterblobks.'

Here are a few pics of my work, both cards the same :)

1st shot, showing capacitor in its original location

    and another 1

Relocated to the back edge, and secured with silicone. Wires extended.

    a side shot

    and with Innovatek block fitted.

a side by side comparison with a Koolance, note that I have removed the hood of the Koolance.

These fittings are very troublesome on the Koolance blocks, jumping leaks when least expected

a very poor design, compared to this

Very sharp eyes will pick up the small collar, that was supposed to keep the o-ring on the fitting. When leaktesting, I found the one block was fine, but the 2nd one had leaks on both inlet and outlet, in the swivel joint.

After removing both these fittings, I found the o-rings stayed behind in the channel, and the collar broken off. Yes, I was very careful removing them, using special pliers to remove the circlips.

Just bad design if you ask me. By using brass fittings, the reliability would be multiplied....

Just running a few benchies, especially 3dMark03 and 3dMark05, temperatures have dropped on both cards from a loaded 62-65 to a loaded 47-48. And it is around 33 deg C ambient in Durban today.

    Feedback appreciated.

    Br,
    MrBean.
