This is actually and addition to an old case mod of mine, but is rather extensive and deserves another buildlog. Also between the two Projects tehre is over an year that separates them.

The case is based on the Fallout games.
    Here is a preview:

And here is the complete picture gallery for the case...

Here is the link to the original Fallout project buildlog in Bulgarian

Here is the link to the worklog for the Fallout Remastered project, contains more pictures, but is in Bulgarian

    So, lets begin...

I decided a while back ago to extend the case mod, so i dismatled it and assembled the computer on a stand...this was continued for almost an year:

This is the internal structure of the case:

And these are some of the parts for the watercooling, which by the way matches perfectly for the idea for the case:

This is a coolermaster musketeer that needed lighting change operation to match with the theme:

Some of the front panel cabling needed reorganization, the pictures present the whole jumble of cables pretty good:

And the reassembly of the internal structure:

    Rust remastered

This is the box that contains the CCFL invertor for the lighting and it needed some refresh:

First i cut a little from the radioactive logo so it will look old:

And after that some rust painting:

For the following parts i decided to use a new way to rust them.
    So: RUST REMASTERED!

For the rust i need this:
Sand i brought back from the sea.

First you glue some sand on the part:

Then some orange paint is applied:

After that the drybrushing continues wirh rust paint:

Something for further ageing of the paint - this effect is achieved through applying glue over the paint, which cracks and chips:

Well done man! I think this mod is sorta creepy looking, but in a cool way. Your pc seems to be saying. Don't touch me, or I'll electrocute you! Amazing skills there. You must be really happy with it. Loving the rust! Very skillful paint work too! :jawdrop:

    Really nice.

Are the vacuum tubes really used for anything? Like an audio amp? If not, you might use nixie tubes and display temp or something with them. Just a thought. It looks great like it is! That's some really good technique on the fake rust.

These tubes are only for show :)
I have thought about nixie tubes, but they are hard to control and require much time to get them working and i don't want to get into thish right now.

Nevertheless i am planning on implementing a magic eye VU controller. It will be placed in a controll box, which will be connected to the computer. It will have an integrated fan controller for powering external fans and lighting. It will probably be something like this:

About the cables - the whole idea of the mod is that the cables shoud fill all of the inside of the case, the ones that are not sleeved are hidden behind panels, so they don't spoil the view :)

    And here is some update:

I have and old musketeer, but it cannot fit in the fron 5.25 bays - the RAM gets in the way, so basically i have only one 5.25 bay. So i decided to cut themusceteer in two:

    HDD indicator

    Time for some update.

This little indicator will show the HDD load:

These are some of the connectors that will interconnect the two parts of the musketeer:

And the head part of the musketeer will look something like this:

I recognise those modular connectors from the Hiper Type-R PSU's.

    Good Stuff :thumb:

Yes, they use similar connectors in modular PSUs. They are reliable and you cannot pull them as thei have a retaining nut. But these connectors i bought from a hardware store, they are standard audio connectors and come in different shape, size and number of pins - 2,3 and 5.
