the gold leaf in those thin slots looks hot i think i'll have to do that to the legs of just about every piece of furniture i have one day!
Yep, that's both side of the same coin. Either you give this formula (the fibonacci sequence itself) and let ppl figure out where the gold number lies in it, or give the gold number formula, and let ppl try to remember what ties the formula to the design. Anyway, that a wonderful job you did
Gold Bars Access door. Here is the access door. It is based on the golden angle (137.51') There are 8 gold leafed walnut pieces "Gold Bars". They are 137.5' from the last in the sequence. So... Starting from the top is #1, then 137.5' is #4, then #7 then #2, then # 5, then #8, then #3 and lastly #6. 1 4 7 2 5 8 3 6 The wood is MDF board. I stained it with the antique walnut and then used papertowels to create the streaks (grain). Once it was dry, glued the "Gold Bars" on and sprayed the whole thing with 12 layers of clear coat.
Here is a shot of the motherboard side. And from the other side And lastly the is the front. The clamps are on to hold the DVD Deck in place. I had to align the DVD with the slots in the front. Turns out I only had 1/32 of an inch of clearance on the top and bottom. (just the way I planned it ) Next steps are to cut the holes in the back, for the MOBO and the PSU. I also have to cut the slots for the cards. Any suggestions. I have been using my Dremel on about 4 setting with a spiral cutting bit following a guide fence. Works ok, but it is slow and tedious... More to follow...
I like the look of the wood and the gold leaf. Also the texture on the gold leaf panels looks really nice...
