No need to troll on people.

Dude, you gotta tell me how you got Lamptron. That's amazing.

Can't wait to see this finished. You've done a lot of good with delrin here...

    Thanks Kayin :)

Honestly, I got to work on tuesday morning of last week and there was an email sitting in my inbox offering to sponsor this project... I was very surprised, but pleased too :)

I'm loving the curves, but should the countersunk bolts sit flush?

yessir, I countersunk them last night and the panels are all ready for paint - I still haven't decided whether I will be doing a liquid or powder finish but I am going to the painters tomorrow to hammer all that out with those guys.

you know I really really wanted to polish these up but I ran into 1 issue - the outside radius' of the braking bends have micro fractures because 1/8" 6061 isnt exactly meant for braking to 90 degrees ;)

paint is unfortunately a must but the powder guys I use are really good and if liquid is in order then I will go that route - I would love to have a wet-sanded polished and buffed coat of fine metallic black paint :D

1/8" 5052 would bend just nice.
In my field we DO NOT bend 6061.

yep, it was questionable if it would work at all, we did a test and it came out fine so we proceeded. Its just a tad on the brittle side as a forming metal but structurally these panels are very strong.
