Most engine internals are cast and machined. The OP wants to raise the boost pressure of his turbo and increase the horse power/torque output. To get past a certain point, he needed to replace the pistons and some bit and bobs with forged parts that can handle the increased pressure and resulting wear. He added new headers that take the exhaust to the turbo, lowering the resistance the exhaust experiences and raising the speed of the turbo and hence the boost. As the HP increases with the forced air induction, he needs to add more fuel to the cylinders. So he added higher output fuel injectors and a higher rated fuel pump. The new cam grinds will allow the valves to lift higher and stay open longer; moving more air, fuel and exhaust.

And he added some bloo parts for coolness.

    Does that help?

Very Nice, anti lag on a 500+ brake system is immense :D

So how many bars of boost are you using? Got some dyno-charts for us? They are the 3dmark scores of the car world. (PCMark scores would be more like a lap of Dunsfold.)

2 bar of boost at the moment, power output was calculated with a special bit of software which talks to the ECU and is normally pretty accurate. Soon as my cams are "dialled in" to get the best out of them and a remap is done I will be putting it on the dyno for a proper printout :)

Not had chance to do much more recently, fitted a Zaklee clear cam belt cover, a rear whiteline ARB, stripped a load of the interior and fitted some 4-point harnesses, had geometry set up with some nice camber etc :D

Done 2 track sessions at Rally Day @ Castle Coombe couple of weeks ago and car has never felt so good around the track, heres a few more pics, still plenty more to do yet!!...

Hmm, I reckon you could find another 10 grams of weight to save...

    Kidding, that's amazingly nice.

Door cards! :p Could be up to 4 or 5 kg's to lose there ;)

But nowhere to put your phone, CD's, gun, lube, whatever. lol

I'm just wondering where this will end? Are you going to go totally crazy and do the inlet duct replacement of the left headlight or can you not get away with that in the UK? I have no idea.

Isn't a 10-point 'cage the next logical step?

    What he said ^

Actually to be honest I thought you'd have done that already Rob. Anyway, as Knuck said, this thing is an absolute beauty. It's so nice to see someone putting all that TLC into a great car and doing it properly :thumb:

Agreed - rear doorcards have to go.

Decent cage (with door bars preferably) would be a good idea though imo. Always good to have a decent cage on a car like this. :)

Lovely bit of kit though, I don't think I could think fast enough to drive it on a country road at any kind of speed.

Thanks chaps, still loads to go yet, only just started it on its diet as I done a track day 2 weeks ago/ The rear door cards, all plastic trim and roof lining are coming out, the soundproofing under dash is going as well when I take the dash out for flocking!

Have a 6-point Cusco roll cage lined up with a harness bar and door bars to go in. not bothering with a 10-point. I am going to be doing a lot more track days, and sprints next year and see how it all goes, if I get properly into it I will be making everything FIA approved which will mean a custom weld-in roll cage anyway ;)

Throbbi - no mate keeping my headlights as need to stay road legal, its normally the silly powered 1000bhp skylines that remove a headlight as they need the airflow for that amount of power!

Funny thing today actually, I was at a corporate seminar day at Rockingham circuit with work which Vodafone hosted and after the seminar they let us loose in Ferrari 360 Modena's, Ashton Martins, Audi R8's and a Lambo Gallardo's, I only got 15 mins driving the Ferrari 360 and I have to admit it didn't feel as quick/raw as the Evo on track although it was damm nice to drive fast I must admit :D

Very well described. +rep for taking the time and helping those who needed it to understand! :thumb:

At some point in my life I want to do basically the exact same process of upgrades as Rob is doing on the Evo to a '94 GT-Four Celica, to be a "Tufy" replica. I can dream ^^ You're talking around £10-15K of after market parts and processes and countless man hours as well, after you find a '94 ST-205 chassis and engine in decent condition that is. I think Tufy built his over the space of about 5 years, and his drag prepared 600 BHP GT-Four is considered to be one of the fastest 6th gen Celicas in the world. She's a monster.

Nice to see a well balance evo.
A lot of people just crank up the boost and think the more power the better, but its the weight that effect a car hugely.
Have to agree with Throbbi if it was a MK1 i would of cried.
My father has one and if it gets wet he nearly cries :hehe:
    I envy you sir.

Fair play mate, I know a couple of people with well set up GT4's and they are great cars and can handle the power really well just like Evo's but its not going to be cheap! :waah:

Cheers bud, yeah so many people crank up the boost and hope the engine doesn't let go but unfortunately so many are killed like that, standard engines on the 4-7's can handle around 360-380bhp on standard engine and turbo with bolt on parts and a remap, some of the 8's and the 9's can handle 400+bhp on standard engine & turbo, to go over 400 safely though you really want to forge the internals which is what I done as I plan to go for 500-550bhp next year :D Still got plenty more to strip off the car yet as well when I get the roll cage sorted!

Poor golf still has its dented boot lid but I will get that fixed next year as it is such a nice every day car I dont think im going to get rid of it any time soon especially being the GT TDi 150 diesel :)
