I've edited this thread to form a project log now, I'll leave it in Hardware & Overclocking for the moment as it's not really a true modding project; it's more of an extreme madness project than anything else ----------------------------------------------- It's arrived, and so far I'm pretty pleased, looks a well made motherboard I'm gonna check she works, and then get started on some mods that I've gotta do to her before she gets a propper run out oh and this arrived too
My hatred for you grows with each new pieace of hardware you purchase Anyway is the infinity essentially the same as the lanparty minus all the extra bits?
I got it from CPUCity, ordered yesterday afternoon at 2pm, it was on my doorstep for 10:30am this morning The holes around the socket aren't too cluttered, I would say they are AS cluttered as the NF7-S; but probably less cluttered IMO
bigZ - Is it the revision A or B? As it says A on the CPU city site. What mods have you got planned for the board or are you keeping them under wraps?
vCore, vDD, vDIMM, vCore Drop, vCore Overcurrent, Capacitor mod, plus just about anything else I can find to mod Oh and some better cooling too
Yeah, but I've seen reviews of the Rev B Lanparty and it's said A on the board.... bigZ - That's a fair old list of mods! More than I could every hope to achieve with my electronics experience. Did you not want the Rev B?
That looks like a really fine motherboard to me - with a 4-channel SATA on it and both north and southbridge cooling too... good luck with it bigZ
I've not even had the chance to boot her up yet... not even swap out my existing mobile for the new one
I've got the processor up and running so far I'm running 11x225.5 @ 1.81v (actual) Superpi / Prime95 benchmark & 3dMark03 proofed. looks good so far The Mach 1 arrived today too, but I won't be getting that up and running until I've modded the Infinity
looking good so far hope it goes further then your last. You know you want to pop it into your infinity for a quick blast
I left it burning in while I went to work at 2500Mhz (12.5x200) 1.86v (actual) and it failed prime after 5h 47mins, 1.9v would and should be completely stable
It's the one that was used in bit-tech's prometeia review: http://www.bit-tech.net/review/171/ It was sitting idle and it's filtered its way over to me since I recently joined the writing team and I do a considerable amount of overclocking and benchmarking I can't thank the guys enough for this
