    Howdy fellow modaholics :)

I have been working on this design for 2 months or so and have gone through so many design styles to get to this point, and now I'm ready to show you some of what I have planned.

Usually there's a throw down of designs so you get an idea of whats going to happen, but alas this isn't the case this time.
I'm going to start with the custom fan grill first and move onto the custom face plate.

This is the template drawn onto 1mm sq Graph paper (this is my version of sketchup), as you can see I'm going for that futuristic type theme.

Cut and glued onto a piece of alu.

Pilot Holes and I am ready for some serious nibbling and filing.

I do this in stages as the alu becomes fairly weak once its all cut out so I cut and file in stages.

    Coming along...

Nearly finished, I ran out of daylight so I will continue this tomorrow.

    Kick*ss! You're doing another one.:D
You are implying that this was done in a single day? Your neck muscles must be strong enough to pinch your head off at this point.:hehe:
You really should invest in a scroll saw if you haven't already. Your style almost demands one.

That is an awesome design you have going on there. Definitely watching this.

Where does your inspiration come from for that?

    @ jrs77, lol ty :)

    @ jhanlon303, didn't take too long :) and ty :)

    @ Spyrious, ty :)

@ Cheapskate, tyvm :) , it's good to be doing another one, Yes it was done in a single day, started at 1 pm and finished it around 6-7 pm, only stopped because my shed doesn't have any lights in it and that my hands gave out from the nibbling repetitive action.
LOL, I have one (scroll saw), but I tried cutting acrylic with it for a project I was doing and it snapped in half (the acrylic) and that was the end of my scroll saw career, have to investigate a decent metal and plastic cutting blade, for now the nibbler will do.

@ weasel, tyvm :), I just draw over and over and over and over again till something appears then I go with it. The fan grill took 7 re-designs till I was happy with what you now see in the pics.

    @ corso13, tyvm :)

    @ x_JesusNinja_x, lol ty :)

Productive day, finished the Custom Fan Grill today amongst other things...

Moving onto the CD/DVD Rom Face Plate...

Drilled my pilot holes and took to them with my trusty nibbler and an array of hand files.

I cut each section out before moving onto the next section so i can file with ease, if I cut the whole lot out at once then it would making filing very difficult.
When I did this design I didn't realize until the this pic that it would be flimsy and it really is, good thing I have something to accompany it, but thats later on down the track...
I cut the center out and had to re file it due to the CD/DVD Rom bay covers not fitting properly, missed it by .05mm, but rectified it by filing the edges till it all sat comfortably.

Next I sized it up against the Front Panel of the case, and the fan grill was out a bit, in the pic you can see that the holes for the fans arent centered, this I will fix before starting on the front panel, then everything will line up as it should do.

More to follow soon, ty for the comments and encouragement :)

Could you provide us with a picture of the nibbler you are using?

Well, that really is something. I thought that nibbler is somewhat useless. :)
Many tools just seems to need the right person to use it.

I've had a few people ask me what I am using to cut this all out of and here it is...

Nibbler on the right, I have Garden Hose on them, this reduces the wear and tear on my hands , because after the 1000th click it really starts to play on the hands, if you've used on you'll know what I mean, also various hand files from a chainsaw file to half moon rasp, flat and triangle, I also use micro hand files for smaller hard to access areas.

Re-drew the 2 x 120 mm holes and cut and filed them both, now the fan grill matches up where it should.

Using a cordless drill, I drilled multiple holes and then hand filed these sections out.

I began work on the entire front panel and its been going along pretty good. I started drilling pilot holes and nibbling and filing away for half of today, I only stopped due to lack of light or I probably would have finished this front panel off tonight.

I cut out the main focus of the case just to see if it was do-able and it appears to be.

Flipped the panel over to see what it will look like once I have removed the graph paper.

Working on other areas of the panel.

    Added the front fan grill.

    Added the front CD/DVD thingy.

Flipped them all over to see how it all looks.

    Random Shot.

There's a lot more work to do and i will be back again soon with another update.
