Wow! Thanks guys 4 such nice response and comments. Im really honored to be here with such great modders. In a way i look at u as my teachers since i learned from reading ur logs!!! Cheers!

    @cheapskate I just might m8 :D

lets go on with an update...

ok. this one took me about 12 hrs to drill. i was extra careful. smaller holes - 4mm. I have even smaller ones but they are not so straight...

number of holes on this one 176x23 ~ 4k   :eeek: :naughty:

Unfortunatly, had to go screws, superglue isnt good enough 4 this task. At least 1 side will be screwless. i dint have "flat" screws at the time so i used rounded. i will replace them later...

Is the top of that HDD cage slightly bent, or is it just light playing tricks?

It's kind of moving away from the concept... but I bet that would look awesome with the old front panel under the new one. I would put a 1/2" gap between them and put red LEDs in between, and blue behind both.
...maybe I should shut up an do my own mac mod...

What are you going to use to hang your HD box?

I appritiate ur ideas! But 4 this mod its mooving away from main idea, yes. i'd like to use multi mesh layers, maybee in some other mod :p. Also as being graphics designer i have proffetional defformation regarding colours. I just cant make multicolor things :) you wont be seeing me mixing reds and blues ever.... as far as i can go is grayscale with 1 main color and shades of it :)

ill hang my hdds on cars "inner" tire.

@cyp lol it will be interesting to make statistics at the end of mod. regarding holes, currently i stand on ~ 8k on this mod. There was 1 more middle front that i didnt post here, i gave up on 1/3, i was using shorter but more square template. it was dissasterous.

Close call. But I think I would call it a little bit more of a scratch build since you have stripped the case down to its minimum frame and then rebuilding all the panels. It feels like if it was a mod, you should be able to tell witch case you have used in the beginning. This looks more like a G5 to mee ;)

    This is pretty amazing! :thumb:

Don't really know what else to say... Other than I think your drill, that you made all the holes with, hates you for beating it! lol

And keep up the good work ofcourse! :)

@Gnu Holy ****! ive just seen ur projector build.... waaaaaaaaaaa!!!! so clean and precise!!! dude, ur uber! and i c we share same taste. minimal and clean.:thumb:

    lets go on with log...

materials, colorors surfaces, brand i plan to use on this mod.

outer shell: brushed aluminum - natural color with transparent shiny over
middle: black matte - brushed aluminum
iiner cage: it has to be black since u can see trough holes, other colour woud stand out
inner parts: brushed aluminum and smoked plexy
    sidewindow : smoked plexy
    details: nice fresh green colour

branding guides: logo has to be simple, round shape - to be in some resemblence with apple, neutral, it woud be great if it can show somewhow what ive done here... it must be cuttable since im planig to go light under it on side panel...

I was thinking in the begining how this is some kind of mixture pc/apple so this is what i was getting...

1st sign clearly represent mix 2 different words (square and circle being the oposits but merging) and 2 main elements g5 is made of.

    second shoud be dna chain

    then i went on...

and was trying to extract 1 thing that i did in this mod.

    here is whot i got:

and application shoud look like this:

later on i was trying to get name by searching someword that sounds right and i got :

    live color scheme:

i woud apririate ur sugestions and ideas about the name since i still didnt pick it. with the sign im sattisfied. cheers!

The sign is nice, but the name makes me think of an alien-esqe mod, not fitting this one.
i have no idea about the name either.
but i like the brushed alu in the first sample pic

I like the logo, but I've never been big on names or text. Sometimes just an icon can be more effective.

How about the logo and just a single letter: In the last specimen-pic just the logo and the 's'.
