Well this is my first project that I have posted on bit-tech.. Well here are some pics.. I will be getting started on the modding tomorrow when the rest of my supplies arrive.. Here is the case by itself with the side off.. its a aluminium chieftec Thats the front of the case obvisouly.. inside of the case Fangrill I already put in The window I will be cutting got the image from a fan grill.. liked it so yea.. its the case window. some of my supplies I have already recieved and this is were the window will go.. so stay tuned more updates in time will follow :edit: fixed the pics enjoy
How about rotating the fan grill around 90 degrees and mergin the window design in with the current fan gril a bit better? i think that could look quite good? nice ideas though
this fangrill is very sweet good project too, the tribal cutout is going to be great too, one thing : in your place i ll make another window design than a circle, i think it goes wrong with the opening's handle of the panel, you had better search other design which better match with it keep up good work
well this is the original image with it darkened.. if anyone wants to take a shot at a better shap for the outside go at it and post..any help would be apprieated.
another update alright got the rest of my stuff today.. here are the pics Thats just a pic of the extra aluminium in case I change the front for a diff fan setup cause there will be alot of bondo-ing done on this mod My new mouse pad.. lol... think its big enough i do Psu sleeving kit and molex remover, redleds to fix my current blue colored fan controller, and dual red ccfls oh and sleeved red leds for the power and activity leds. now I can get started on the modding today
Keep an eye on the CCFL's brightness. I thought that I read a post somewhere of someone getting interference from the wires being too close together, and it affected the brightness of his CCFL's.. not saying undo it, just test it. Looks good!
Anychance you could explain a little more.. it intriques me.. but i tested the ccfls today and they are hella bright.. kinda pinkish though.. but the place Iwanted to get the from closed down.. so i had to settle with sunbeam ones.. i might dye the ccfl plastic tube a more red to darken it somemore.. anythoughts on that or the window thingy? I wanna know if anyone else thinks the circle shape around the window will clash with stuff.
well see the problem is the fan hole was there stock.. so yea.. I'm kinda screwed about moving it. thanks though
for your ccfl's just try and find theatrical gells. they are like hevy duty colored celophane and can change the color to a darker or more pure red here's a link to what i'm talkin about, search for roscolux gels and here's where you can get those store scroll to the bottom good luck with the lights and the case, it looks like it'll be a good mod
i said it befor and i'll say it again... modding a chieftec aint easy....but some ppl manage to prove the opposite... i hope you can do the same
well i started on the modding all I have done so far is cut out the stamped fan grills.. more to come later one.. but here are the pics of the progress so far... back grills front grills keep watching for more updates
another update lol alright.. well i got a new design for the side panel.. still gonna be a tribal cut out.. but not the one i had before.. this one goes with the fan grills better. thats the design.. and here it is taped and ready to begin cutting.
dude dont be ridiculous if you wanted the window i drew above you could, you'd just have to buy a sheet of aluminium for the design whatever </unsubscribed>
TheAgent: Not too sure I appreciate your attitude bro. This is *his* mod, we can only suggest ideas...if he doesn't like it, nevermind dont get so grumpy over it.....sheesh Nice ideas elf, keep up the good work, I'm sure it'll be a beaut
Sometimes keeping it simple can be a good thing, in this case i think thats true, by picking the simpler design you have will cause you less work yet it gives a nice clean look, is in the same theme/style you want and is just as effective. Think you made a good choice there i like it. And theagent, as bsodmike stated, its not your case so dont try forcing your ideas on what people should do with their time effort and money because its not your place to do that. Even if he made a decission that 99% of all modders out there would scream at, as long as its his choice and he's happy with it thats ok because its his case and time at stake, all we can do is offer advice pointers and opinions. Keep it up Gnemelf its looking promising
