Ya know, if you light that just right, you may get it to throw a shadow of the time on the wall on the other side of the room!

I've done some mayor updates this week. I made a custom backplate, fitted all the hardware, done the complete front, stealthed the CDROM, and at the moment doing the back (not the backplate) of the machine :)

The black plexiglass window I made to hide the IR eye, and because it looks cool :hip: The red thingy is the powerbutton

I like this project, for the connection the av connection, what does the GND wire on the sound go to, is it the outer of the rca connector, or the bit that the pin goes into?

Cheers, because im looking to make one myself

The clock looks kinda bad... how is any air going to get through?

I dont know for sure, but there was a wire on the PCB that shared by the two RCA connectors. That was the ground for sure.

There is air going through. The clock has a small space between the wood and the... clock. So there is enough air going through. If you are talking about the looks: it indeed isn't like I wanted it :eyebrow:

    Some overview shots:

Done the back (please don't mind the size 13 feet below it)

Air vent, but preventing the finger roulette (made out of a musquito net)

The back with UTP and USB flaps up :p (sound like a cheasy fligthsim :p)

    Closeup on the RCA connectors.

I also made a sub-goal: no fancy neon's, useless watercooling or "this is already done 200-times" mods ;)

I'm sure you're already planning on it, but please do clean up the cut edges of the graffiti board. The exposed wood (or whatever it is) - around the plexi, and at the edges - really hurts the overall feel of the case. Even just painting it black would make for smoother transitions from one face to another.

For what it's worth, I like the fan/clock combo... maybe you just need to integrate the clock a little more into the case instead of sticking it on the outside. The LED effect is really unusual.

Finaly, the criticisme I was waiting for :). I am currently doingt exactly what your saying. If you check out this picture:

And look at the bottom flap, you can see at some parts I am already painting up the wood-color.

I dont think I am gonna do anything about the clock though. Although I am not quite happy with the result.

And should I be happy about the fact my room looks like an Ikea showroom? :p

I'll leave you to decide :D

Reminds me of the scene in fight club where he looks round and his room turns into an ikea catalogue. And we all know what happened to him :eeek:

You might want to touch up the face as well, just because there seem to be a lot of cracks and other imperfections. A gloss coat over the whole thing might do it some good, too.
