Wow! Those responses made my morning Thanks a lot guys Alianyn: thanks for the suggestions! I love the ide of making jagged edges with the bondo, but I have to thing about that one because I have never used bondo before, so I think it will be hard to do... I think I shall practise on something first. The Dremel I am using is a "Contera International Belium 130W". hehe but I think of it as a "NoName". Today I'll start cutting those edges.. I don't think I'll be able to finish it today though... But I can take some pics if you want to
Please do I'll get my Antec PlusView1000AMG and Tagan 380W PSU tommorow, so all I need is my DangerDen kit from CoolerCases, some CCFL's and most important of all....a new power tool. Cheers, Mike
Top window almost finished Now here's what I've done today... IT IS NOT FINISHED! so please no bad comments yet (Only good ). Here I have removed the masking tape just to see how it would look withlout it...
I hope you are right lonewolf... I'm not 100% pleased with the design of the spikes, but I think it will turn out ok Here's a pic of what I'm doing on during the rainy days.. I'm sanding down the scratches from when the dremel slipped while I was sanding the edges.. Btw: POST 300!!!
Very tidy dremel skills and good artwork for the design of the dragon. Can't wait to see the finished product.
PARTS HAVE ARRIVED!!!!!!! YEEEEEEHAAA!!! The Parts have arrived! (obviously ) I am in a hurry right now.. so I will post lots of pictures later... Today I have finished the top. and cut away a bit of the case. This picture is clickable so you can see all the parts in a lager pic.. EDIT: I pasted the same pic two times...
Wow, that's a LOT of parts lol. You have a lotta work ahead of you incorporating all that stuff into your case. Your top cutout is way nicer now after you've fixed it up a bit. Lookin forward to seein more pics!
the more i look @ that dragon the more i like it - u should take a needle file and round up the edges @ some points but i`m SOOOOOOOO loving it! if you don`t mind i think one day i will definitely be cutting me one of those - or etching it. as for the bondo, bondo is actually quite easy to work with, has a very speedy learning curve, it`s a very forgiving material and if you bork it, you ca always sand and restart - the big plus of it is that with little sanding and leaving some material on it - great textures can be created... perhaps the scales of a dragon or it`s rock like cave appearance - anything you want... just test it out - the best part about modding is learning how 2 make cool new stuff
Lot's of stuff. I also received some parts today. Antec PlusView 1000AMG Tagan 380W 1GB 2X512MB Geil PC3200 RAM I'm waiting for my order from CoolerCases to arrive, then I'll start my simple project. Cheers, Mike
Thanks y'all even though I don't quote everyone who replies to me, doesn't mean that I don't appreciate the relies I love all replies (as long as they don't say that my project sux ). Of cource it is ok just don't pick the exact same design as I have True true! Thanks for the ideas alianyn! they are really great! I especially love the one with the cave! But I think I will wait.. maybe in my next dragon mod Here's a little photo session, starring the parts I have bought Here are the sleeving kit and the change over parts Here are the TDX block, Maze4 NB block, and the DD PRO rad. Here are the heat sinks I will use for the SB and some of the mosfets surounding the cpu Here are the fans, fancontroll, screws, grommets, fan grills, etc (ohh How did I get my parts to "pose" like that? ) Here are 11 Leds (one with a chrome housing). they are "green" but looks more yellow to me, and they really couldn't light up a **** even if it was wrapped in aluminum foil! the pic also shows two of my new 10cm uv catodes.. Just for fun I put the case together as is is now... the sidedoor is primed and ready for another coat of primer before I shal start the color spraying
I would... but I'd slice my arm open on the side! I'd settle for the waterblocks. Looks nice so far... can't wait till the end. About the LEDs... LSDiodes.com has some really cheap, ultrabright LEDs and doesn't even rip you off with shipping. I got some sea green LEDs from them... they're great, I'd bet their true green is more what you would want though. And the great part is that a big order with them couldn't most more than $50 (and that's if you're zapwizard trying to blind people with a small form factor) unless you go about replacing every light bulb in the house with a wad of 12000mcd LEDs (I'd try that but $35ish per bulb is a bit expensive, but there's no noticible flicker with them on 60hz AC and it would take about thirty years to burn out and would probably light up a small gym)
wow, i love this case, i wish i could have your dremmel skills, just one question, what did you use to cut your windows, i didnt have time to try and find it in the mass amount of posts keep up the good work
Thanks a lot guys Today is a moddong day, so expect an update later this evening I used a Dremel I used thin reinforced cutting discs (sorry don't have the number). So am I fitting watercooling into this case has really been on my mind for half a year, so I hope my plan works Thanks for the tip Firehead I'll definately give that page a visit
