Car body filler is quite good. Locite sell some plastic filler you can get in halfords, give that a bash
hehe the modding continues! today I have sanded and primed the front panel (hmm... i think it's called front bazel...) I'll post pics as soon as it's dry
Front Primed this was a huge step for me... cuz now I can't go back (without sanding it down that is). here are the pics before: after: looks a bit more like one piece now
And you're going to paint the front black and shiny like the rest right? mmmmm nice, the curve on the front now is really lush, keep it up! (edit, my spelling is crap)
Holy cow and other animals!! I'm really not sattisfied with how the front door turned out!! I can clearly see where the bondo is because it seems like the bondo is a little bit lower than the plastic, making it look like the F'ing Grand canyon! I'm wondering if I maybe should sand down the primer and apply more bondo But I don't know if I care enough.... I know it will stick out like a flashing neon sign in a respected neighborhood, when I apply the shiney black paint....
if it annoys you now, it'll annoy you every time you look at it in the future. Little bit more effort now will make it perfect. (coming from me, this is pretty wierd, I'm the king of, 'it'll do', but you know what I mean right?)
Indeed Phuzz. I have decided to apply more bondo... although it's my first project there's no reason to be sloppy. and I think the case deserves it, since I have put quite a lot of work into it. I'll post pics of it now..
Front door primed Yesterday I primed the front door, but as you can read above, it didn't go too well.. so I have decided to apply more bondo. Before: After: All together (everything except the door is wet sanded so, as you can see, much of the primer is gone)
Dragon Door painted The last update didn't get too much response, I hope this will Today I painted the dragon door. The gloss gloss turned out to be "ok"
Wow That door is probably the shiniest thing in the world. Well, ok, maybe I'm being a bit over the top today, but damn man, that is a really nice finish you've got there. Every time you look at that door, I hope you feeel proud of what you've achived, especially considering this is your first mod and you've not only designed and dremeled a sweet design, but the paint work is tops. ok, I better stop before your head explodes with pride, I'm really looking forward to seeing it all start to come together...or have you already started to use the case?
thanks a lot guys! I aaalmost exploded phuzz I want to finish the case (without the front and doors) as soon as possible, cuz i want to start using it but I't will require some pinting to be done. I "finished" up the top last week or so, but it didn't turn out like I wanted. so I'll sand down one layer and apply one more coat od black gloss, and then the clear lacquer again. I think the problem was that when I used rubbing compound, I had sanded a bit too deep so I got through the clear coat. Tomorrow I'm going to "mod" my computer desk. mount two speakers upside down to the plate over my monitor that is I'll probably also paint the backside of the dragon door, since it will be visible through the jagged door.
