Could you post a guide on how you did the paint? (after the mod of course, I want to see it finished)

 

I have read many "how to"s on how to get mirror finish... but the one that I used as a guide line was
this one, which i found about a year ago. it is so amazing I couldn't believe my own eyes when I saw it.
At first i didn't understand what he meant with "orange peel", me being norwegian and all, but when i understood that he meant the rough surface you get after spray painting, it all became clear.

Also, good work on the paint , I have been attempting
to do a similar job on my project ( Not going fast forward)
and it is not that easy as it seems.

Its amazing... It looks like paint ain't no dry so... liquid or something.. Can't spell too well.

today I mannaged to break the Y-fitting for my water toobs! and I had just ordered some leds from frozen cpu (hope I get the right ones this time), and it was packed and ready for shipping, so i couldn't just add a new Y-fitting... That's going to be an expencive fitting when I buy it

Second stupid mistake!

Hi guys. Long time no see. eh?

well.. I've been working a lot with school stuff lately... but I have sprayed a couple of more coats on the parts... The clear coats are kiling me! i simply can't srapy a layer withoug getting some serious orange peel!! well.. over to the mistake..

FROZEN CPU (just to make sure you wont order LEDs from them) made the stupid mistake of sending me wrong LEDs AGAIN!!!! The first time (as some of you might remember) I ordered about 10 Green LEDs and got 8 Yellow/green ones and 2 dark green LEDs... The ones I wanted were the Dark green ones. I forgave them that mistake, since I hadn't had any trouble with them before..
Now, I ordered 25 Green LEDS. and i got 12 Dark green LEDs AND 13 YELLOW/GREEN LEDs!!! this time I had written a note on the order, asking if they could make sure all the LEDs were Dark green. but still they mannaged to send me wrong ones.
I hope they make me an offer I can't refuse as a compensation for their repeated mistakes..

well.. my mom is going to norway on friday and she is going to buy some stuff I'll need to finish the case up

Sorry to hear about frozencpu giving you problems. But to get rid of that orange peel use some 800 or 1000 grit to lightly sand it all out then use rubbing compound to get a mirrior look. Make sure you sand out the scartches to but go easy or you might cut through. Also use some glaze and swirl mark remover for best results after the rubbing compound. Suggest using 3m.

 

i know rody but thanks anyway . the thing is. I have found aout that I don't want to use rubbing compound after all since it didn't get the shinyness I was after. so the final coat will be a clear coat.

 

Har du bestilt led's helt fra FrozenCpu? (jeg antar at lokalene deres ligger enten i England eller i USA), så ble ikke det kostende veldig mye? Er det ikke bedre å kjøpe på Microplex?

Want me to go bitch them out? I live about 15 minutes away from them. I could just drive down there, slap em around a couple of times, steal some stuff, and then leave. Sounds like a plan to me!
