A small update. I mocked up the lower loop. I aded a valve for easy drainage. Here is the rear mocked up. And the drainage tube. Discuss
Update Well I am update time. These parts are the plastic pices under the front of the case. At first I wanted to paint them black and gloss em up. Then I decided to add a bit of shine with some aluminum tape. This is how the bottom part looks like. This is the top. I also painted and glossed my psu bracked. The digitoc moded and painted black and clear coated. I havent installed the circuitry yet on it though. Another shot. This is my aoc fan I was using in my old setup. The fan aged and started making more noise. So I guted it and put in a TT silent fan in its place. The old blades in chrome didnt do it for me so I used the TT fan blades and since they were orange I painted the blades black and put a gloss coat ontop. This is a pic of the rear of the fan with a plexiglass ring covering the housing that was painted black and clear coated. and the front of it. Thats about it for now. Im working on the front bezel now. If you want to coment, coment HERE
Well I painted the side panels but only polished the rear panel. I also mounted the rear 120mm fan and mounted a grill filter in the rear. Here are the pics. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......shiny. More bling. Closeup. The rear fanfilter. And the rear fan. I know the case has some dust in it and will be cleaned before final assembly. Thats all. For now im fine tunning the front panel and sanding and preapring the other sidepanel. I also mounted some rubber feet on the case to increase the heaight of the case and for noise dampening. Thanks a bunch bud. If you have any sugestions please feel free to post them. Same goes for everyone else. As long as its constructive criticism I dont mind. also I cant wait till my velocity stack idea comes to bear fruit. Im shure you car lover out there will like it.
Update 3-9-2006 Well Another update. I started with the front and plainly just filled the side holes and bottom holes. Then I cut the front grill. Here she is withought clear coating. A fiew shots of it fully bolted together and clear coated. I also put in a key witch will disable and enable the power button. A shot of the case feet. I simply used the old feet and painted them and clear coated them and bolted a set of rubber feet under to dampen case vibrations. Thats all for now. I am working on the other panel and will start work on the top of the case. I also have a question for onlookers. Should I paint the top silver and give it a two tone look? Discussion is in signature. Feel free to put in coments or sugestions.
I think you should stick to the black for the top also. Nice job on the paintwork so far by the way. Maybe get a chrome thing going on with the radiator?
I must admit that in the beginning that case looked a bit old and battered, but you've resurrected it really well. I like the clean functionality of the loop, especially how you have managed to cram pump and tubing in the case using a minimum of available space. The drainpipe and temp sensor are clever additions. I think that with the appropriate material you could polish that copper to a full shine --a must with such clean tubing. You know it has to be done...
Holy crap. The man himself likes my work. I am flattered. The tubes have alredy been polished bud and I chose not to mirror shine them but simply give them a sanded look. At this point I clear coated them. More to come. Stay tuned guys.
The other side panel is finished. I painted and polished it then put in the plex. check it out. As always coment link is on the signature.
lookin sweet. That window has character. Keepin the top silver or you gonna paint it too? Looks fine but I'm just wondering.
Im going to construct a top shroud and paint it black. I may add silver racing stripes to the shroud though. Paint is a definite. But im not shure about the stripes yet.
UPDATE time. And the primary shroud. (Its not the final product) It will be covered by something else when I fabricate it. Another shot. I was planing on using my old maze4 gpu block thinking it should be ok. Well this is what it looks like. The funny thing about this is that I also had a swiftech block with a larger alu lid that was anodised and that survived unharmed. I was also running so mutch aditive that my tubes were stained brown and this still happened. DD realy droped the ball. They will hear from me about this. Luckily my buddy had a spare maze4 gpu block he could lend me that was undamaged untill I could get my block situation sorted out. Im thinking about geting a swiftech mcw60. Enough of my yapping. Here is the plumbing. And the flow sensor installed but not connected as of now. On a side note, The loop is not geting afected by the flow sensor. AT this point I think its acting as a jet on the block or something. More testing required. Till next time. Coment link in signature.
Update. I got tired of the pump noise. The main problem is that the pump resonates through the case. So I decided to cover it in foam. Went to home depot and bought some stuff. Here she is. My new top from danger den. Honestly they have been exelent in replacing the top. Brand new top and off I go. Other side of the top. It feels extremly light compared to the alu but it feels durable too. Time will tell how this goes. Filter mod. The way I did this filter mod is actualy simple. Take a womans stocking, strech it over something flat and spray with clear coat in a dusty fashion. Let dry for 10-15min ensuring the clear is not completly dry and take off the flat surface. Cut to shape and use some glue to glue it on. This should be washable as well as do a very good job at keeping dust out. I used a zalman grill that I cut and filed to shape needed. Here it is mounted. I think it looks good. I also painted my DVD-burner. I only painted the front. It looks beautifull. Mind you the smudge is a effect of light and dust. I had to redo the digidoc. I think it looks better like this. Dont mind the fingerprints. I need to do some cleaning. My fan reversed to the correct way and a little nose cone action. I polished the cone on my drill with a bit of sandpaper and clear coated it afterwards. This cone is actualy a foot of some sort. Looks good there though. Hope to finish some soldering and starting on the top soon.
